In accordance with the Rules of Conduct, section 3.1.9, paragraph D, which states:
Quote:

Exploiting any bug or weakness in the DarkSpace Game System is forbidden.
This includes not only the exploits listed in section 3.3 of this document, Game Exploits, but also anything that clearly provides an advantage for some over others, and is not designed to be that way. Players are required to communicate any bugs or weaknesses they discover to PaleStar via email or any official bug-reporting facilities provided by PaleStar. Distribution and/or publication of information about any bugs or weaknesses in the DarkSpace Game System for the purposes of encouraging exploitation by any other DarkSpace Players and/or Staff is forbidden.

The practice of Players capturing planets held by a Non-Player Faction (particularly MI & Pirates), waiting for the planet to revert back to control of the same Non-Player faction, then capturing it again for easy Planet Captures points needs to come to an immediate and complete stop.

The revolt code, in its current form, and its intended function, is in place to provide a minimum number of planets at and near which spawn NPC and AI ships, as well as the occasional event account. This was never intended to allow players to pad their capture stats, and to use it for such is a clear violation of above-cited Rule.

Effective immediately as of the time of this post, upon review of any relevant server logs, any Players caught in the act, or reported to have abused the auto-revolt code by repeatedly capturing the same planet, may, at the discretion of the attending Staff Members, receive warnings, a mark on their records, and reduction to their Planets Captured stat. Repeat offenders will have their Planets Captured stat zeroed, and may also be kicked or banned, again at the discretion of the Staff Members present.

If the offending individuals and the community as a whole do not curb their behavior in this regard, an explicit prohibition will be added to the Rules of Conduct.
