When November 1 of 2001 hit, I had been a member of the DarkSpace community for twenty-one days and a member of DI for roughly nineteen days. Naturally, I had already gotten into the rhythm of fleet operations and relations, and whilst I was sitting around in a free block at my High School, I put together and posted something that would unexpectedy develop quite a following.
It is a shame I cannot show you that original chart now. Truthfully, I could have if my computer had not gone under a few months ago, but I lost a lot of data and the old Top 10 records with it.
So, suffice to say, it has been a pleasure to carry out the Top 10 for the last year and a half. It has been and will continue to be a pretty obvious chart, since it has always been based on numbers that are readily visible to anyone else at any other time. However, despite its seemingly redundant and irrelevant nature, it is something that a number of you look forward to every month as an indication of how the fleets stand against one another.
I am proud to have provided this for you and grateful for your support and following.
However, not all responsibilities are eternal. As you all know, I've been getting slack about the Top 10 lately and have missed it entirely on some nights, and been late on many others. I don't necessarily know why this is, but I no longer want to do you all the injustice of having to wait.
Plus, honestly, I'm tired of the thing, and I want someone else to have the opportunity rather than giving myself a monopoly over it for all time. So, I'm passing the responsibility of this psuedo-Official Palestar event to a dear friend of mine, Lith Ragond, who I know will carry on the Top 10 with the strength that I did for the first year. Perhaps he will even be stronger and add something to the Top 10 that I could not.
I will continue to assist with it when I am needed, so I am not entirely disconnecting myself, but I wanted to let you all know so that when Lith posts the following Top 10s, you won't look at him strangely.

He he he, WOOT! Yo Demo, it's been awsome having the Top 10, I'm glad I can carry on the tradition.
Also, in the next Top 10, look for *drum roll* Top 10 MV Fleets (according to number of planets they own, i'll think of a better name for it cause just cause a fleet has a lot of planets doesnt mean they are the top, ya know? so, maybe... Top 10 Fleets of MV Owned Planets? that's a lil too long, any ideas?)
