I know, old news, but still, does anyone have any thoughts on this new product by chrome?

On paper they seem like an incredibly awesome idea, but are they useful or are they worthless pieces of junk?

afaik you cannot run Windows on them, even in developer mode. They seem sort of silly to me but according to ~the internet~ there are quite a few good apps out there for them. I mean, don't look to it as a gaming machine or something silly but for something you can use as a lightweight work machine they seem to be OK.

Eh, I don't know that I agree with that. For a REALLY hardcore user they are interesting, because you can get into the shell and do just about whatever you want (insofar as is possible with a proprietary OS like ChromeOS or whatever the hell Google calls it). They also have really good support for programming (particularly for Android apps, go figure) in that there are some solid IDEs and source control (a portable version of Git, which is vogue at the moment) apps it can use as well.
