Good + £350 don't go together. A decent GPU costs close to £200 these days.

For the price maybe but it won't be able to play a lot of (any?) current games.
You can probably get a good enough GPU for around £90 but the one on that PC is pretty much bottom of the range.

This will give you some indication of what you need.

I built my PC in 2007 for about $450. 2 years later I upgraded the graphics card. Basically, I can play whatever I want at near max settings.

Newer games are better optimized, and the rate of increase has nearly plateaued. That's because most developers are making games for consoles and porting them. And Xbox360 hardware is not hard to beat anymore at all. About a year after the new consoles come out is when you'll need to look into a stronger computer, which is why I'd shy away from this one.

The CPU is decent, the graphics card is a little low end (Get an older generation card that was built for PC gaming. It's cheaper and also better. A higher number isn't always better), and if you really want to future-proof it (Meaning, several years, not forever ) then find a system that's capable of SLI or Crossfire (Two graphics cards connected at once) .

I would suggest building your own PC from parts you buy yourself. You know exactly what you're getting, and it's also cheaper. Just have an OS ready to go for it.

Do NOT buy a computer on ebay.

oh i can't begin to imgaine why

they tend to neglect to mention why they want to get rid of it

it could be a software error

it could have a pirated os

IT COULD HAVE 2000 VIRUSES ON IT.

Nice. I always like a good game of Texas Hold'em up with a few buds.

Off topic. Back to the main.

Better to get an average CPU and a better graphics card.

Agreed. CPUs are much more powerful than thier GPU counterparts. You see GPUs clocked at 1000mghz, while CPUs are 3 times that, and multi-core too. Granted, graphics don't require as much processing power as everything else, but generally your bottleneck will be your graphics card.

That's why I suggest SLI/Crossfire.

A lot of misinformation here.

CPU's are CRAP at parallel processing and single/double floating point calculations.
GPU's are CRAP at integer processing.

There is a reason we have a GPU, and a CPU. A GPU can do a thousand+ calculations at 1Ghz, whereas the CPU cannot.

You need a decent one of each to game with. You won't get a 'good' gaming PC without one or the other.

U miss the point, Jack. Same for Reznor. There's a limited budget involved here.
This is not abt parallel processing or whether CPUs r more powerful than GPUs.

If you're on a budget, you're gonna have to make compromises.
Having the best CPU but an average graphics card is not gonna help yr gaming experience.
The reverse would be a better bet.
