There have been many memorable salutes to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" over the years--the headbanging car ride in Wayne's World, polarizing American Idol covers by Kellie Pickler and Constantine Maroulis, and Weird Al Yankovic's "Bohemian Polka," for starters. But the Muppets' new "Bohemian Rhapsody" parody just may be the king of all Queen tributes:

Starring a whopping 40 of everyone's favorite felt friends, this Muppet video went viral the minute it hit the web on Wednesday, getting more than 1.5 million hits on its first day alone and reaching almost 5 million views as of this writing.

The Muppets and music have long gone hand-in-fingerless-cloth-hand. The Muppet Show featured guests like Elton John, Alice Cooper, Deborah Harry, Leo Sayer, Arlo Guthrie, Paul Simon, and Johnny Cash, and that show's house band, Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem, always rocked pretty hard. Additionally, Sesame Street has featured impressive musical guests as disparate as Ray Charles, Feist, R.E.M., Sheryl Crow, Stevie Wonder, the Dixie Chicks, the Goo Goo Dolls, Billy Joel, LL Cool J, and Little Richard. The Muppets even once delightfully starred in Weezer's "Keep Fishin'" video.
But this may be the best Muppets-and-music combo yet.
