They've already had one. And anyway, fact is Georgia has been just as much a belligerent in this whole issue. Bar Russia continuing to act a bit like a sulking child in refusing to pull out after a truce, this parallels the Kosovo crisis in around '99. Only difference this time is that NATO is on the other side of the fence.
But anyway, to keep this thread from being too political and gloomy, here is the Communist Party

Main question is..
Why do we care?
It's not our problem.

it will be your problem when they bring the war to your doorstep like Japan did in 1941, and like the Arabs did in 2001. if you do not learn from the past, you will be doomed to repeat it.

I would suspect that, like most rational countries, they don't want war. Rather, they probably want just as much as they can get away with short of triggering a war. And its not really "war" with a country like Georgia; more like a rout. They calculated that they could take out Georgia without causing any armed response from the West; this they did. It might change diplomacy a bit, but as European diplomats have said in recent days... the West can't really work without Russia. They control energy supplies to large parts of Europe, are able to stymie any substantive work in the UN, are a member of most useful international organizations (many of which operate on consensus, allowing them to block things there too), and are rather key to many military and security related initiatives and undertakings of the West, particularly the U.S.
Thus, just like the rest of the world wasn't really able to "punish" the U.S. for its war in Iraq, extraordinary renditions, or whatever else they may disagree with and rail against publicly, we can't really do a lot to Russia. I would say the U.S. has slightly more latitude to abuse international law and ignore foes and allies as it sees fit, but Russia is damned near impossible to sanction effectively.
But war? Nobody except defense contractors want war.

lol some really funny pics but... it dose matter to America too, just not as much, the U.S has stated that it will grant supplies to Georgia and is"pressuring" Russia to completely withdraw. but it dose have an affect on America too, lol we haft to get our nose in it too.
btw if you are still interested in the subject, heres a link

People don't seem to care because they can't do anything about the situation other than whine about Russia being a bully, or playing a 5 year old by saying "Georgia started it!"

Japan came to war with us because they where in alliance with Germany, and they wanted to keep us from sending supplies to allied countries.
9/11 happened because we are a free country, which terrorist groups hate.
This is pretty different. Georgia wasnt attacked by Russia on a whim, they went in and attacked Russia. While Russia did come down alittle too hard, Georgia asked for it.
It's not American soil, we don't even make alot of money in trade with Georgia. Theres no reason for us to threaten to use military action over something that Russia didnt even start.
You really need to get out of the mentality that America is here to police the world, just look at Vietnam and Korea.
