ok i know this question has been asked many many times . but i was just wondering when is the new patch sopose to come out and if you dont have a release date how long till you will atleast have a estment timeline ( first person to say 2 weeks is gona get it)

well i have to agree, at the start of the year evryone got exited because things very finaly happening. It all looked so good and that the patch was finaly getting somewhere. 5-6 months gone now and we havent heard much...not much have happend...whats going on realy?? whats the delay?

We can't dedicate as much time working on the project as we want to. Sadly, real life is the delay. Work is being done, and there are usually updates to the source code and project files every week or two, and we have encountered one serious issue which has essentially delayed the development cycle until we can work through it. We are currently looking at needing between 80-100 manhours just to resolve this problem, before we can resume normal development. Actually completing ship layouts themselves should be fairly quick, it's a matter of one or two weekends.
To give you an example... say we do 6 hours of work on DS a week... it would take 16 weeks just to resolve the issue we are working on, and it is a task which is mind numbingly boring.

You guys take the time you need. None of us are going anywhere. Maybe we do need to figure a way to get some new subscribers just to keep things going but I like the game with or without the patch so take the time you need to do it right.

wow i knew it was hard to make new patches but wow that dose sound rly hard i wish i knew somthing about programing and things like that ide be more then happy to try and help but oh well atleast i got my answer tnx

In addition, this one is proving harder than the previous ones as near as I can tell just due to some specific technical issues.
