i dunno i had a turtle when i was a kid, all it did was eat, crap@sleep, and smelled awful

A dog is happy to see you when you get home. Cats dont give a crpa because they are secretly planning to eat you when you die... and they poop in a box, what a GREAT IDEA... cmere kitty, poop in my house...

True. However your forgetting the cat FUR that needs to be cleaned up, and cat fur goes everywhere.. everywhere... (again) .... Its like cleaning up dust x 2, nothing worse than a dust/fur mix.
I would not mind having a turtle though, but at this pet hospital I did volunteer work for has hermit crabs, there pretty cool too. There kind of funny to because sometimes they dont like the shells you buy for them so they go streaking... Funny to see.

You obviously haven't had the pleasure of having a dog that has hair designed to keep it warm in sub-arctic and arctic conditions. We've just stopped trying.
