Just as some of us thought that the Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX 512 was going to be king of the hill...

ATi release this beast.

48 pixel pipelines, and a god-like amount of technology...

Just look at the stats

I'm already saving

You know, Backy, we kinda get it. We realize that ATI broke its longtime sucky track record. Thank you, and welcome to last year.

Quote:
Earlier this year, NVIDIA unleashed the 7800 GTX, which came out of its cage with claws and teeth ravaging everything in its path, including ATI's X850XT Platinum Edition. In October, ATI answered with the long awaited R520, in the form of the X1000 series. The X1800XT took a few good shots, just enough to retake the overall single card crown. Then in October, NVIDIA answered the challenge and released GeForce 7800 GTX 512, basically featuring more memory and higher clock speeds. NVIDIA took both the single and dual titles away from ATI. ATI returned with Crossfire X1800's on December 20th. Are you starting to see a pattern here? This back and forth competition is getting to the point of insanity.

Every time one of them releases a new card, it owns the older one. This isn't like the one-sided AMD vs. Intel, where the newest Pentium EE gets owned by an Athlon 64 FX that's been in the market for a year.

Yes, that new ATI card is better. You know what's gonna happen next? NVidia is gonna release something better, and then ATI will release something shortly after, and you will make a post entitled "ATi Beats Nvidia... yet again!".

im afraid that this dogbarking wil never stop.
until someone wil make the choice.

I personaly Don't hope that some day that one of the two get around the table whit a Motherboard building company and processor company.
And start thinking of a intercopperated graphic, storage and control system.
That wil boost the preformance of specific programs running on there chips up to atleast 400% of what there currently preforming.
this becous most of all the preformence drops lies whit the current computer standards.

How ever if this ever would be the case it could destroy the open market.
becous this is the opposit of what current programs and operating systems are build on. (the standards.)
but if this would go trough than we may see the rise of a super corporations.
that wil compete not just with hardware components but whit the term Computer it self and may even erase the word "Personal Computer" from this planet.

A little afraid and to think about those posable doomsdays.
I personaly am happy that not in anny time soon these dogbarking company's wil stop.

Competition sparks development.

Development leads to new technologys.

New technologys which are, better.

In other words, let them fight it out, they may just be able to make graphics cards into their own computers in their own right.

Lord knows they're already halfway there...
