I'm currently switching all the game configuration information out of the registry into a local INI file.
One setting, which I wanted to make public was the "music" variable... if you happen to keep a bunch of mp3's in a different directory, you can override DarkSpace to make it play the mp3's from a different directory...i.e.
[Client]
music=C:My Music

I'd still like some way to be able to randomize, fast forward, rewind, and skip whole MP3 tracks. I want some Metallica when I'm toasting uggies, and some Brian Williams...Metavoid or Purifying Fire...when bug huntin.

Camel there already is one just put you mp3s in the music folder. The only thing I want to able to-do is be able to change tracks manually not have it cycle threw it alphebetacily.

@sunshine i think if you set a empty directory for the music, no music will be played...

Can anyone confirm this works? I tried setting the Music to my MP3folder on a different disk but I do not hear music in DarkSpace.

Ok I got it to work... the trick in the Neat Trick is to use the following:
[Client]
music=Drive:Path_To_My_Music
Pay attention to the last it doesnt work without it...

one thing about the order songs are played in the DS music folder..
edit the names and put a 1, 2, 3, 4, .. in front. or a - z then aa - zz if you need quite a few.
selecting tracks would be nice though, to set the proper mood music for what you're doing.
