Here is my current TODO list, not necessarly in the order of priority...
Texture Cache - player option to cache surfaces to a file on disk, thus speeding up the load time. Currently, textures are kept in a compressed format, which takes some time to decompress then convert to the correct bit-depth. This would save the uncopressed and converted texture to disk.
UniverseServer - A central server for the MetaVerse servers for multiple uses, including mission generation, etc..
ShipYard structure - new structure that can be built on planets, which can be used as a spawn point for player ships. The structure would be very expensive to maintain, thus very few planets would be able to support the structure.
Diplomatic/Political system - Embassy structure and diplomatic unit, plus lot more in-depth information on planets political makeup.
Trade Route Interface - new mode for the navigation map, which would display the available resources, trade routes, and prices in one screen.
Mission interface - new mode for the navigation map, which would allow higher ranking players to set mission directives, which in turn generate missions for the players in-game.
Nebulas - Rewrite of the nebula code to be faster and look better. Ultimately, I want the ability to have an entire star system inside a nebula.
Video Test - seperate exe to test a players video card for compatibilty.
Home Page - Rewrite of the home page on www.darkspace.net, to display news headlines, metaverse status information, allow players to submit news, etc..
Platforms - Defense, Supply, and Sensor platforms that can be built by an engineering ship.
Formations - ship formation code
Tutorial - Rewrite/improve the basic tutorial.
Forum - Forum rewrite
Server Stability - get the servers more stable and crashing less often.

Just a questions, will the plattforms be the same ones we had in Closed Beta?

Yes .... I'm going to bring them back as a step towards the player built space stations.

I've seen the nebula in the screenshot section, looks impressive, hopefully not too impressive
I don't want to play all the time with 0.0x FPS

They are actually MUCH faster to render than the old nebula's.
I'm keeping 100fps on my gf4 inside a nebula.

Okay, had a close up look at the nebula...
I like the look, but it doesn't feel like a cloud any more.
Feels like you are flying between flat papers with images on them. Dunno, just doesn't look..."right".
If it could be verticle as well as horizontal, then it would work for me.
Just...it's like...well...it just doesn't seem as...right.
Especially at range. It looks alot less cool coming up on it. All you see are these thin bands of color...

Maybe some small and random cloud objects moving through the area would be nice, with your ship flying through them

Ooh, formations! So we can get some actual organization in fleet ops!

How come ya dont use the type of fog and mist effect that we see in FPS games, whats the difference from using them in an FPS to the darkspace engine?

i have to agree... it looks rather flat...
whats about some flashes .. blinking objects, moving not so verry textured coulds (as the one in the jumpanimation).
or would that lower the performance too hard?
