Does anyone have access to decent shots of a ICC escort destroyer? Multiple angles are what I'm looking for. Not for commercial use or anything, just trying to model it myself and need better reference shots.

I... What? W-what?
He's pointing out that because you fly the ED it would make sense that you might just be able to do the modelling yourself.

Well sure, that makes perfect sense. I'll make my own reference models so I can model it -_- I would have thought the part about 'better reference shots' would be a clue.
I was asking because I know they are out there but can't for the life of me find them on the forums. Also because to my recollection most of the renderings I've seen people make were better quality than the rather awful in-game models. No worries, I'll figure it out.

Truth be told, the ingame models aren't really that bad.
Sometimes the mesh may be a bit off... not centered or aligned properly, and sometimes with some holes and stuff here and there. But the shapes are generally decent after a bit of correction.
And in some cases, as on the bigger ships, they could do with a bit more polys spent on hull detailing.
But really, I feel that it's the TEXTURES that let them down. The original models simply tile textures over selected portions of the ship. That's why you have weird looking (and scaled) windows on weird parts of the ships. (windows on fins, anybody?)
Part of the reason why I take so long in redesigning some of the ships. I painstakingly scale the ships against a 6 foot tall human model to ensure that the scale of the windows are correct. If you're gonna redo a dessie model, pls take note of that. Dessies are about 250 meters long IIRC.
Good luck.
