Well, it has been a long time since I posted any fan art, but I have had a few free moments to play around for a while... First up is a kluth cruiser concept, second a kluth jumpgate concept, and finally a ugto jumpgate concept. The Kluths are not textured, because I don't have any good kluth textures, so I shuved in wireframes with the model images to show a better definition of the models.

on the kluth gate, you should have lightning like arcs connecting the top and bottom spikes, thatll look cool

Lightning arcs would look cool =P, but now im wondering if the kluth gate would look better up-side-down, like a umbrella.

Instead of making "Gates" why not make shipyard looking facilities for spawn points?

Otherwise, these models look really really awesome. You should look at beta and see the faction spawn gates in their already. Maybe it can be set up so if, for example, UGTO owns both SOL and Alpha Centauri, the jumpgate to go from/to those two looks like a UGTO jump gate.

wow those are cool, i gotta try some of this software...
I always imagined a kluth gate would be like something grown, maybe the mouth of the creature is the portal...and I like the shipyard idea for all faction, it would mix it up a bit.
There was one game I played where in order to advance to the next system you had to destroy the gate the enemies had built over the portal, and defend the gates you built over the ones you captured. Doubt they could impliment that here though.

those are REALLY good models, Osp. and yes, we already have models for kluth and UGTO jumpgates, but more are welcome! i like the cruiser model too... (and i second Fattierob on the shipyard-looking spawnpoint)
