Well lately with all the new players coming in I thought I do a: "How do you...?" Series, to show the new players how to do things.

Before I start. Most of things I am about to right are either from experience or what other players have told me.

Supply Ships are maybe one of the most targeted ships in the game. They are great help to a friendly but a total annoyance to an Enemy. So be warned. If you are going to take up supplying as your forte' then you should know these handy tips.

1) To supply, GET IN A SUPPLY SHIP. This will help alot because you would be on your first step to Supplying. List of supply ships for each faction as follows:

UGTO Support Frigate, Supply Ship, Heavy Supply Ship, Support Station.

ICC Defence Frigate, Supply Ship, Heavy Supply Ship, Support Station.

K'luth Aphid, Worker, Advanced Worker, Ultimate Worker, Hive.

2) These supply ships come at different ranks so don't expect to get the all at one time. To supply, select a friendly ship or Platform and click y. You will then start supplying.

3) I have had newbies tell me that: "I don't seem to get any pres for supplying!!! OMG HAXORZ!!!" Well for one either that person does not need repairing, two you are not in a supply ship or three you are out of supply drones. Make sure you always have some supply drones. Or option four, you are not within the range of 250 Gu's to repair the target.

4) One thing that bugs me is when people go: "Can you repair me please?"
Well the magic thing about supply ships are: THEY CAN REPAIR THEMSELVES (People gasp). To repair yourself: press shift y and you will start to repair yourself.

5) To get supply drones orbit a FRIENDLY planet or a FRIENDLY supply platform.

6) Try and stay under stations if possible and stay out of friendly and enemy ships fireing lines.

7) Rank up and get better supply ships.

Enjoy!

This was just a rough guide on How to supply. Please freely add to this post if you would like.

The name of the ICC supply ships are the S40-A and S42-A Supply ships, thats what they say on the selection screen.

That should be very helpful to the little ones.

Theres just one thing i didn't see mentioned that is rather important:
You must be within 250gu of a friendly ship to repair it. (or 300gu for a station)

getting repaired by another supp-ship have 1 advantage:
the other get pres, while you dont get anything, if you repair yourself

if the station is under fire, and below 50% hull, RUN
most of the time the station will explode, killing you along

and finaly, dont stay, where you are, when enemys are around, they usually prefer shooting the supp and a moving supp-ship can dodge bullets

Your going to have to exclude support frigs after the update, seeing they'll have their suppy drones removed for more firepower.

I'd totaly say truth for both.

My rule's of supplying

#1 Don't give up & Don't die. (the nr1 rule of everything)

#2 Don't Stop, Never ever.
Some additions have been made to this rule over the years like (with the exeption of orbit), (allowed when around a planet, supping cruisers or above) etc.

#3 1/3rd speed is minimum, flank speed is maximum.

#4 Your own survival is above that of your ally

#5 Don't draw attention to your self.

#6 Keep a ally between you and the enemy

#7 Don't fire your weapons when rule 6 is not met. (aiding rule 5)

#8 Speak to your repair target. Say that your repairing him and when you are leaving him.

#9 Watch your surroundings and the flow of the battle.

Some of em, there not in the correct order, i'm just re-calling them from memory.
