Hello,
Thought I'd take out my Command Dread for a bombing run today after a few years' absense.
So I approach Danae in Proc server with 3 ECMs on. I'm 800gu away from it with a sig of -0.7 and surprise, surprise, I'm fired on by the planet def!
I asked in chat and was told that signature does not matter now. So my question is: What is the purpose of signature and ECMs now and what's actually used to determine if a planet def can or cannot see you?
Thanks.

As far as a dread goes, even back as far as 480,after reaching a certain distance from the planet a DREAD would been visible due to its size reguardless of its sig, however the bombs wouldnt, also due the their size AND the signature created by the ecm,or rather the lack of.Dont kmow it that still applies now but meh, just fighter bomb it like most do.

You were desynched. One sign of desynch is an abnormal signature.

And even if playing as kluth and you cloak the planet keeps firing for at least 20-30 seconds after your sig hits 0.

Thanks guys, sounds like I need to do more testing (or just launcher bombers at planets...).
