Darkspace Academy UGTO opend his doors.
i thought that with all the new players this might be a good thing. this fleet has the main purpose of making new players understand the game and have fun in it. so if you are new you are more then welkom.
in the fleet you can ask any thing and we will try to help you with it. if it is combat supping building or bombing we can help you with understanding how it works.
more expirienced players are also more then welcome they can help others or just be gaurds. when you are a gaurd of the fleet your main role is to protect training area's en escort new players in combat zone's so they don't die to easily.
to all the old vet's who are willing to flame this don't. i know the old program and i have my reasons to do it this way. because with this being a fleet poeple can juse fleet chat to train other players so that the main chat isn't affected to much. and that new players in the fleet can always find the trainers/gaurds in the fleet window in the lobby making it easyer for them to ask things they don't know.

I won't flame you one bit. I would give you a medal. I was thinking that now would be a good time to restart the DSAs. I just personally have too many fires going atm.
I'll support it as much as I can though. Let me know anything I can do.
Some of the earlier Wolves were [DSA-K'Luth] trained pilots that I recruited out of the academy. So I know the potential it holds to train good pilots.
Good Luck.

Great Job Timbo.
I have the same offer for ICC.
New players can contact me or other FS and we will help you learn the ropes.
Between our 3 factions we can do lots to help new players have a memorable first period of play. I had that experience. I came in and a handful of Vets taught me just about everything. Pass it on.
Thanks again Timbo.
Padma

ty for all the support. and padma i can say i am very glad to hear that FS wants to train the icc new players.
and azreal it is indeed tru that this same fleet program has been succesfull but when ds became paid again the new players disapeared so the program was canceld more or less.
if anybody wants to start a academy for the luth feel free. it would be best if there where training fleets on al factions. any excisting fleet willing to take up the job, also fine by me. just want a place where new players could train a bit.

I wish I could set up K'Luth's, but tbh, we don't need it so much atm. The noobs get a good enough education generally speaking, now days in K'Luth. Wolf basically trains any new people floating through that are willing to learn.
If I remember right, there was a forum setup to help wiith the DSA, that allowed all three DSA fleets to share the forum and pool their knowledge and tutorials.
If you haven't gotten access to it, you may wanna talk to staff and see if it is still in existance. I gave the foroum list a quick glance, but I didn't see it there. There is a archive for old fleet forums now, and it may be in there.
Just a thought to help you out.
Also, I'm sure Wolf would be happy to help train your pilots with sparring matches in equivalent ships. Could help your pilots get the hang of fighting the K'Luthies. We'd be happy to help in that area.
And if anyone wants to fire up DSA K'Luth, I can certainly help with that. I just don't have a free hand atm to actually run it right now. Maybe in a month or two, but not atm.

Well, the way we used to do it was, we'd put a [DSA-UGTO], [DSA-Kluth] or [DSA-ICC] on the back of our names if we were fleeted but willing to train. Maybe we could come up with something like that. Maybe just add a [Helper] tag on the back of your name.
It works for SWG, Pirates of the Burning Wallet, and a few others I have played.
Maybe instead of [Helper], just a plain old [DSA]. The academy should be generic, tbh. It's best to understand ALL the ships, ALL the factions. In the scenarios you don't always get your pick, now do you? And where should DSA trainies be at? Scenario server. There is no arguement about it.
That is the way to bring back the missing skill in this game.
I'll bet Coombie, Banshee, and others too numerous to name would testify that the scenarios gave them the instinctual knowledge of what your strong points were and what your enemies weaknesses are. Its from having to fly other factions in the scenario days, and spending time in those ships.
Gotta reproduce the same conditions if you want the same skills back in the game.
Reproduce as close as you can the things that were successful.
An old arguement though for me....

sure you can use it. It will be obsolete very soon, so I haven't done alot of updating on it. But use it while you can.
Did I read right that you can join DSA without being subbed?
Why...
That's awesome if so.

hmmm you folks are right. it jused to be that beginning a fleet was the perk now being in a fleet also requires a subscribtion. sorry all for the false intel.

Ive been pondering this as well. I used to have a ds player site.. and am reviving it as a DS wiki for any and all to contribute to.
Re-establishing DSA is a great idea, and having a few commited seasoned players in the beginner servers to answer questions and instruct wouldn't be bad idea at all.
To those seriously interested in reviving DSA, lets get together and discuss how to organize all of this and get it going!
