The K’Luth psi-entists have been developing a new defensive proto-type weapon against the humans, it is an energy barrier that can repel enemy fire, this defense is an alteration of the ship’s cloaking generator. As such, any ship fitted with a shield will sacrifice cloaking abilities for a great defensive power that rivals ICC shielding. The shielding is expected to take double the power of a standard cloaking device, but have hitpoints of 5 fold to that of an ICC Active Shielding System.
A demonstration on this prototype device will take place at the K’Luth Homeworld of Sag Hotha on the afternoon of April 24th. Predicted to be the largest gathering of K’Luth Pilots ever documented, this demonstration marks a new day for the alien renegades as the tide of war turns in their favor.
However, K’Luth intelligence reports that ICC and UGTO have been having top secret meetings, possibly planning an attack during the demo, it is also suggested that the humans may have a stronghold already within the K'Luth Home system…

NEXT SATURDAY! May 1st, 2010 @ 2PM Central
Rules:
* Humans Vs Aliens in a massive battle (UGTO alied ICC *VS* K’Luth)
* Defend, or attack the proto-type ship depending on your team.
* No friendly fire, (for UGTO/ICC, no attacking any UGTO/ICC ships, and same for KLuth no attacking KLuth ships)
* Obey all of the Rules of Conduct.
* Players may join either K'Luth or either Human fleet in the battle
* Any ship modification, any player, any rank, all are welcome to join this event

sounds nasty XD, but kool
im sure the new sheild will require a new Gadget, wich in temr would probably require an update, but come to think of it, after this event, maye make the gadget swapable for the actual sheild for players 
either way i looks nice

I dunno how you are going to do this... It certainly hasn't been approved by me, and considering no such ship exists to spawn...

Current stage of development is proto-type, there is only 1 gadget, mass production of the gadget comes way after the proto-type stage, and that's even if the proto-type survives the event

So K'Luth has no objective other then keep this ship alive? Human pilot or AI pilot?
If its a AI pilot it will probably just ram into a planet, if its a human they will just hide in a safe zone.

IDEA: this would be a good way of new testing devices in DS, and possible counters to those devices. in affect creating a way of creating a evolving Weapons system, instead of the stagnet system we have now. Hmmm, I like that idea......any thoughts about this, Devs?

Just the thoght of giveing the K luth another advantage is the worst idea ive herd in a long time

the UTGO or ICC need to be revamped lol WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!!!!!!!!!

its not, "another advantagr" its a "Different advantage" wich mean they will need to swap the cloak out for the shield
and its not becasue you dont like the idea, that your allowed to double post

CRAZY45. This is an event, it will not be a new ship for the KLuth, it is a prop dude. The whole thing is for entertainment, the ship will not exist beyond this event, no gadget will exist beyond this event either.

I'm sorry, I guess faustus didn't tell you about it yet, but I wanted to announce the event to public soon as he approved, since its planned for next week and i want to let everyone know to come.
the ship should be into the game by the time of the event.
