I have my doubts that your intentions were to detonate them when Llama arrived...
Looking from my perspective, I saw you laying mines with your opponent on the way, I was going to stop you then but I figure, he's only got so many mines.. Then I see you jump to one of the K'Luth observers in a station and I see drones, and you're already turning around to go back into the zone... So, from my point of view I see you trying to mine up the battlezone to gain an advantage.
So, I re-acted, strongly of course, was a bit stressed in retrospect I should have just told you to det them before disqualifying you immediatly.
And the delay was me talking with eledore, jim, and commanderhawk about it in ventrillo, I decided to retract my previous disqualification since you detonated them.
After that it was done and overwith, I don't understand why it got blown up to the point of you quitting...

Its bad form to accuse someone of something or otherwise insult them and then lock the thread. I've unlocked the thread because as far as I can tell, there's no logical reason at this moment for it to be locked -- aside from making your post look like it resolves the issue, about which I have my doubts.
Its also bad form to lay the ground for a flame war, so I request that any future replies not include attacks or anything disruptive.

So if Palestar had made the same call, it would be popular? The event leader is the leader.. even if it were someone else, I don't see how everyone would suddenly be happy with the decision. Or are you implying that players make poor judgments but that official ones would be better, since Palestar is known for its decision making skills and fine judgment?
More seriously, I agree - I should have been there, and while I knew when I left the house Saturday morning that there was a chance that I would be late, I thought I'd be able to be back in time. Turns out I was later than I expected, so I missed the fighting and thus the drama. I didn't provide JBud the cover he apparently needed, nor the official face to apparently make everyone happy. I tried, and I failed. I'll try again in the future, but I can't guarantee I won't fail in the future.

That's the general goal here. No destination is reached unscathed, and any trials on the road are best dealt with as learning experiences for those involved. A fresh event staff- because really, it has been an extremely long time since we had a dedicated group for this, and even that was of community volunteers- can't be expected to be top-notch from the get-go. I just hope that what I'm typing is more than text and comes to pass in the form of progress.

For the record: I took back the disqualification because I relised it wasn't necessary the only reason Pakhos did not compete is because he quit on his own.

Ironically, the staff rarely veers from objectivity, and when they do go off on a tangent; its typically for comical effect. So there you have it, witty AND efficient.
