Since 1.481, there has been a huge disparity between home-system sizes due to the introduction of the Real Sol map into the Metaverse. Well, now is your opportunity to re-adjust the balance, and make the home-system sizes fair again.
We are announcing a Home-system redesign contest for both the Sirius and CD-36 maps, which will be running for at least one month. The prize will be the inclusion of your map design in the 1.484 Metaverse.
We would like to see scaled up versions of the current maps, therefore maintaining the current relative locations of planets, only over much greater scales. We would also like to see an increased number of moons in these systems, to bring the use able planet numbers up to the same scale as Sol.
To give an example:
Sol currently has 27 planets, 2 of which are not habitable.
Sirius currently has 19 planets, 4 of which are not habitable.
CD-36 currently has 18 planets, 3 of which are not habitable.
Sol has an approximate total diameter of 280,000gu.
Sirius has an approximate total diameter of 147,000gu.
CD-36 has an approximate total diameter of 80,000gu.
This competition is open to everyone, although all entries must be created in the DarkSpace Map Editor before submission. Entrants are also welcome to work together on the same map design if they wish to do so, and are welcome to submit multiple entries, although we would prefer a few high quality maps instead of lots of badly designed ones.
So don't hang about, get designing!

Do you want it exact planet count like sol, or just close?

I was bored so I completely re-did cd36. I mean, it would take what, 10 minutes of work to just move everything farther apart from everything else and add in a moon here and there? thats no fun. Why is that even a contest? "ooh, I see contest B has moved planet G 100gu different then contest C...."

We are wanting systems based on the current ones, not entirely new ones. Continuity and familiarity is kinda important...

would you be happier if I renamed the planets to normal? Honestly, if you just want somebody to make the map larger then thats not a contest - thats a job.

I re-did Sirius, attempting to stay within the bounds of what you requested. Hopefully it does a better job of getting what you want.

The most beautiful, fightable, kluth-like system was Nicea. It pretty much WAS the unofficial kluth homesystem. Bring it back in some small form.
