There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between Staff and Griefer, between Prestige Gain and Prestige Loss, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of Darkspace. It is an area which we call the Metaverse Zone.

Witness Mr. Doran Botis, a charter Staff member in the fraternity of dreamers. A bookish little man whose passion is the printed staff log but who is conspired against by a rowdy lobby and Guild Wars and a world full of tongue-cluckers and the unrelenting hands of a clock. But in just a moment Mr. Botis will enter a world without a lobby or Guild Wars or clocks or anything else. He'll have a world all to himself, without anyone.

Scene: Doran is at a Lobby Window (Title: DORAN BOTIS, CREDIT EXHANGER) reading chat Logs. A player, Nemesis, comes up and places down a 20 dollar bill. Doran glances at the money and takes it before opening up a drawer and taking out some credit denominations

Doran: Mr Nemesis, have you ever read the chat logs of Josef?

Nemesis: How's that?

Doran: Wonderful little fellow, here's this poor Alaskan fellow whose father left him to marry a herd of Meese and his mother has married a miserable man by the name of Shigernafy. What a dreadfully evil name that is. Shig-er-nafy. Heh. You should see the –

Nemesis: Doran! You short-changed me again, you forgot the 1,000 credit chip!

Doran: I'm terribly sorry, I thought I had given you that. I'm really sorry!

Doran: Theirs another character in these chat logs by the name of Bito, he's kind of a -

Doran: And theirs this fat kid called Fattierob who -

Doran: Sigh, another dead lobby

Demorian: I wonder if I might see you in the /staff room, Mr Doran?

Doran: Why, uh, certainlly Mr Demorian. I don't suppose you ever have read the Josef Logs, have you, Mr Demorian?

Demorian No Doran, I have not. Now if you'll accompany me...?

The time is the day after tomorrow; the place is anywhere so long as it can accommodate a Staff member, a lobby and a metaserver - along with a little man named Doran Botis who has only one passion in life and that is to read. Mr Doran Botis - conspired against by do-gooders and other staff members whose hands waggle disapprovingly at him always disallow the moments he'd love to use to read what he would.

In Two Weeks from now, however, Mr Doran will have his chance to read in a DarkSpace much different than the one he knows - a server without staff members, or admin; a server for that matter, without any player!

Demorian: Now, Mr Doran, I shall come to the point of our interview. Efficiency. An officer of the staff must perform a multitude of jobs - policing of the Rules of Conduct, one who assists the new players, a checker of logs when trouble arises, a credit exchange officer for when players need credits, and a general moderator of the lobby. But you, Mr Doran, do not seem fit to do any of these things save one.

Doran: One, sir?

Demorian: A reader. A reader of Logs. You pick the job that allows you to lobby camp the most every day and read logs. I've even see you read the logs of those logs! Madness. When you're waiting on a player all you do is read logs in the background. When you file up a staff report all you do is quote jokes from years ago in them. Do you know how I became supreme emperor of Darkspace, Mr Doran? I was a moderator like you once, you know. 10 Years a Moderator, i'm proud to say. And do you know why? Because I spent my time doing my job. 5 minute staff report. 10 minute forum check. Thirty minutes to write up a forum reply. Answering. Assisting. And after 10 years of passing through the ranks - you know how I wound up?

Demorian: I wound up as an admin of Darkspace. Ultimatum, Mr Doran. You will henceforth devote your time to your Moderator job and forgot reading logs - or you'll find yourself next to Rogue Spear on a lobby bench where you can read from morning to night without a job! Do I make myself clear?

Doran: Yes, of course but I -

Demorian: Good day, Mr Doran.

Doran: Good day, Mr Demorian.

Scene: The Lobby.

Voice: Doran? YO; DOR-ANN!

Crim: Hey buddy, what's up?

Doran: No thank you.

Crim: Hey that's no way to treat a player Hello I'd like a /report a moderator for being lazy...

Doran: What do you want? Can't you see i'm busy?

Crim: Yo I want to look at the logs you're reading at, they seem kinda cool

Doran: What? No, these logs are for Staff members only and -

Crim: Yeah Yeah, i've been here long enough and ... What, what is this? How old is this garbage? Josef? Shigernafy? This isn't even vintage Rogue Spear and you're reading this? I don't even see Tael's Teaching Time here or anything, what is this -

Doran: Nothing a savage like you would understand! There are some beautiful things in here!

Crim: It's a waste of time reading sub-par jokes. Give me that, I'll show you -

Doran: Why....Why did you...

Crim: Sucks bro.

Doran: Why Crim? Why did you do these things?

Crim: Sucks bro.

Doran: There'll be a time, Crim, a moment when I can ban you for -

Crim: Ban me for what, Doran?

Doran: When i'll be able to ban you for the years and years of torture you and the rest of this lobby have done to me, the years of indignities and misery and cruel -

Doran: You'll see. You'll all see.

Scene: Lobby, night

Demorian: Doran, i've had a request for a particularly old log in the vault. Go get it and don't read a single line of it before bringing it back here.

MOTD: Welcome to Darkspace 1.951 - A GothThug Bomb would mean total destruction says leading Staff Member.

Disconnected from Server, reconnecting in 30 seconds....

Scene: Ruined Lobby

Sometime later…

Doran: Everything, gone, all gone, everything gone .... they're all disconnected. Except me. I'm all right, but everybody… everybody else must not be able to connect…

Doran: ...Could it be? Could the archive still be standing? It was meant to be made out of the strongest PhP we could afford ...

Doran: January. Februray. March, April, May, This year, that year, next year, year before, so many lines to read! So many jokes to understand! and the best part ... the very best past...theirs time no. All the time I need. All the time I want.

Doran: Finally ... There's time enough at last

Doran: No.... No .... No... This isn't fair. It isn't fair at all.

Doran: There was time now. There was all the time I needed. it isn't fair it isn't fair it isn't fair it isn't .....

The best laid plans of mice and men ... And Doran Botis. The small man who wanted nothing but time. Nothing but a moment out of the Two Weeks. Doran Botis, now just a part of the dead lobby. Just a piece of the rubble, Just a fragment of the staff member he used to be.

Mr. Doran Botis ... in the Metaverse zone

Story teller asks himself ; Why I am fat , cant be normal and still satisfying myself watching porn when i dont have to spend my useless life writing stuff!.

Then god , the owner of universe spoke on to him; Son, this is your destiny, take it or go to be fat somewhere else.

It was a coin toss between like 8 different people and it wouldn't change the story at all.
