Things aren’t looking good for the UGTO Ambassador! After another day’s deliberations, the Kluth Ambassador is starting to make statements, which lead us to believe he is siding with the ICC on the Augmented Weapons Program.
Kluth Ambassador – “While the ICC mined and refined Buggedshieldsica 483.6 as a defensive maneuver against UGTO aggression. But, the UGTO scientists and engineers knowingly designed weapons to produce just such a result as we are witnessing. And, UGTO High Command authorized both research and development as well as implementation of the Augmented Weapons Program.”
The UGTO Ambassador realized the Kluth Ambassador would not be swayed from his perspective easily and so tried to stifle his opinion in the matter completely.
UGTO Ambassador – “You, , agreed to meet us to discuss how we should deal with the sterility problem facing all of our peoples, not to assign blame! Our actions against ICC insurgents are completely legal under the Articles of Interstellar Law, signed by the leaders of each human world over a century ago! In taking up arms against their governing body, the ICC insurgents forfeit their rights. Our choice of weapons against rebels within our territory is a UGTO internal affair.”
The UGTO Ambassador continued for some time declaring all ICC territory to be UGTO territory, but under the control of rebels. The ICC Ambassador interrupted the UGTO Ambassador with an angry outburst.
ICC Ambassador – “The ICC is an independent Nation of planets! The Articles of Interstellar Law are not longer our laws! We have rewritten then to afford our citizens freedom from UGTO oppression! You reference century old documents, signed by my great-great-grandfather, but perhaps you should give more recent documents a read. I suggest you start with the ICC Declaration of Independence and the ICC Territorial Sovereignty Amendments!”
Obviously, they have let their politics get in the way of true progress on the real issues at hand. The inter-faction Council of Judges have declared deliberations to be in recess until tomorrow, when they hope the Ambassadors will keep their arguments on topic. This is Chronis Rhin reporting.
