Good morning ladies and gentlemen...

First, I'd like to welcome the newly promoted that are here today. You're replacing some fine officers. Continue to show the stength that is the United Galactic Trade Organization Navy, and you will go far with us.

Things are not looking good. The ICC have beaten us down to only a handful of systems. Ross 148, Lalande, Wolf 359, and Cincinnati have already fallen to the rebel scourage. Alpha Centauri and Bernard's Star are now contested systems. We have lost all contact with our forces in Wolf 359. Van Maanen is at risk.

Our focus must be held on keeping the ICC away from Sol. Should we lose Sol, this war will be lost.

Our plan will be to retake and hold Alpha Centauri. Once Alpha Centauri is under control of the UGTO again, we will move to seize Lalande and reunite our forces with those in Van Maanen and Bernard's Star.

The K'Luth Question

Since we have lost control of our borders to the ICC, we have no idea what has happend to the K'Luth. It is quite possible that the K'Luth are taking advantage of our war to deal extensive damage to the ICC, however we cannot be sure of this. Hopefully, the K'Luth will draw the ICC force away from us, when we make our counterstrike. We may have to deal with them again, at some point.

Our Orders

Our battle group will join the 5th fleet from Struve. Most forces will be involved in this counter strike, except the elite guard forces of Sol. They will remain in system, should we fail. It is expected that if we do, the ICC will immediately try to seize Sol.
We will move into Alpha Centauri to reinforce the remaining fleet assets in system. Our force shall assult the ICC forces at G567 and Regus. The 5th will move to defend the moons around the planet Hope from the ICC force.

We will move out at 0800 hours. Good luck everyone.

Alright, note this is entirely fiction, and is my attempt at writeing something. And it is based on the state of the MV, at my time of 1:00 PM, Mountain Time.

just so u know, the DS history has the UGTO council sitting on Mars, so really the war is lost if ICC capture that planet, although Earth has some nostalgic value

Moral Loss. Earth is the "Birthplace Of humanity". While having the council is nice, if your forces are totally demoralized (loss of homeworlds theroetically would do this) they arn't of much use.
Besides, realistically, should the council be threatend, they'd probobly just leave Mars and move elsewhere.

The council room is held deep underground on Mars. Only high ranking navy officials, members of the high council and Chancelor Mato himself know the placement of it. Should Mars fall, nothing is lost. We shall prevail, and we shall be victorious, for we are the UGTO Navy, and we shall not let the rebels have their victory over us.
