Terror Plan Foiled!

A small band of ICC Special Ops. Agents were discovered in a cavern an amazing ten miles beneath the surface of Earth, under the North American continent. They were discovered by our, much better trained, UGTO Special Ops. Agents, Quantum Mechanics Division. Amazingly, in secret during the ICC occupation of Earth, not so long ago, these ICC agents were dispatched with all the resources they needed to build a small colony deep under the surface. Using an augmented tractor beam, these ICC agents were able to push down and compress a small tunnel into the Earth, ten miles down. Once down in the cavern of their creation, they quickly set up structural reinforcing beams, a subspace transmitter and life-support systems, along with a secret cargo. Upon the completion of this small base, the tractor beam device was taken away by the ICC Secret Police, hidden in the darkness of the night. Then, the tunnel was caved in completely with ten miles of explosives. A titanium blast door protected the ICC agents at the end of the tunnel, leaving them completely isolated.
Over the weeks since this base was completed, and UGTO regained firm control of Earth and the entire Sol System, these ICC agents worked quickly to prepare their horrificly evil plan! What was their secret cargo? A stolen Quantum Singularity Device, commonly used as the warhead in our Quantum Singularity Torpedoes. The ICC agents were trying, in vain, to understand how it works and how to increase its power for global devastation!
Fortunely, their ignorance of such technology was their downfall, as they did not understand that the Quantum Singularity Device warps subspace even when inactive, and that it was bending and reflecting their thin beam-transmissions back to ICC territory, creating clones of the transmission and sending them out in random directions. Our Science and Engineering Officers of long since been aware of this effect on space, and were more than capable of making such pathetic errors impossible on our ships.
Only three days ago, one of these errant transmissions streamed straight into the receiver dish of Pluto's subspace transmitter. The transmission was encoded, but didn't take long at all for our expert decryption teams to crack, and the ICC agents' were exposed! Only hours after the transmission was decrypted and sent to UGTO Command's proud Intelligence Division, an army of veteran troops gathered around the area while Grand Admiral RonZo of the C.E.C. Fleet scanned the topography and discovered the rubble-filled tunnel. His powerful tractor beams, even all the way from his station in orbit, were able to clear the tunnel in mere minutes.
Down the troops rushed to the blast door. With all the shaking and rumbling of the tractor clearing the way, the ICC agents knew they had been discovered and worked frantically to complete the weapon. Our experienced troops made short work of the blast door and we able to quickly kill all of the ICC agents, mere minutes before the weapon would have been ready to fire!
Upon examination of this hybrid device, our scientists were able to determine what it was intended to do. Using an ICC shield generator to contain the blast, and several dreadnaught-class pulse-shield weapons placed carefully around the Quantum Singularity Device, it would have detonated to create a small unstable wormhole, just as the Quantum Singularity Device is designed to do, but then the ICC shield would hold the blast in place long enough for the pulse-sheild blasts to arrive and compress it down into a completed singularity. This singularity would have taken one of two possible forms. It was linked to their subspace transmitter, which was directed at Sol, the star itself, and so intended to absorb a large chunk of North America and send it through an unstable wormhole into the sun. However, the device was poorly constructed of make-shift components and is determined to have only had a 50-50 chance of accomplishing this. The alternative would have been worse. The ICC calculations were sloppy at best and could have over-powered the ability of the Quantum Singularity Device to work properly, and could have forced it down into a black hole, which would have consumed the entire planet, and its gravity would have tossed all three remaining inner planets out of their orbits and eventually into the sun! A good plan, if it weren't being executed by a group of fumbling rebels, trying to manipulate a technology they couldn't hope to understand.

That made me laugh for 5 minutes for some reason.
Well written. And speaking of technology that the ICC could not hope to understand, let me remind you that you've salvaged ICC shields and planetary shield gens, held them for YEARS, and still haven't figured out how to make them work...I mean, those simple energy shields have got to be a lot easier to figure out than...Quantum Singularity Torpedoes...
