War!
--------
War is spreading among our fellow Kluth. The vicious attacks brought in by the ICC in BD have caught our brave warriors off guard and have forced all K'luth forces to retreat. A decree taken from Warlord Smartin stated: "We were down to our last two worlds in BD, alone and with extensive damage to my ship I managed to fight off wave after wave of ICC ships for some time while awaiting reinforcements…" BD was lost within three cycles so was Epsilon Eridani. The Hive has sent an ambassador to the ICC informing them that the K'luth will never surrender, and to advise the humans to prepare for death. As of this time our ambassador has yet to return to Hive space with his report, and it is feared that the ICC are no longer chewing over just his words.
Hive scientists stationed in the Groombridge system have noted that although the UGTO have been beaten over and over again that they still feel a need to push into Hive space. Many members of the Hive's ruling castes have decided if this act of stupidity continues then an all out invasion into UGTO territory is inevitable.
Kluth Clones??
------------------
Due to new UGTO technology of a chemical nature being used against ICC, many believe that a hybrid race has been created. Many K'luth peasants have mistaken these mutated ICC for one of their own. Military forces have been dispatched to the borders of confederacy territory to monitor who is passing through in efforts to blockade these mutants.
Obituaries
------------
It is with great regret that the Hive reports the death of Ther'mih'dorr, the oldest known Shal'Mer (Mandible) serving our great navy.
Hatched two-hundred and seven years ago in the K'luth nurseries, Ther'mih'dorr quickly showed her assertiveness, eating a number of her hatchmates within hours of birth. This assertiveness got her into trouble several times during her infancy, and her K'luth handlers were rarely able to leave her with Gaifen without her making snide comments regarding their "inferior genetics".
At the age of fifteen years, she was assigned to a Thal'Enk (Hive) as part of its Larva squadrons where she performed well. Drone pilots would fondly describe her as "keen and chatty, with a dry sense of humour".
After a further five years of fighter squadron life, Ther'mih'dorr was one of the few individuals to survive until pupation. As her chrysalis grew over time, it became clear that she would become one of the fearsome K'luth battleships, and her tenders eagerly awaited the day that her adult form would emerge.
Finally, at the age of thirty-one, Ther's shell began to crack, and after several hours and a final spray of mucus, a mature Shal'Mer emerged. Numerous family members and their crews attended the occasion. As her wings unfolded she accidentally fired a volley of disruptor beams and killed three of her cousins.
Many decades later, as war with the humans began to erupt, Ther'mih'dorr found herself assigned to frontline duty, wounding and killing many of their blasphemous vessels. Her, and her crew's duty continued, until at last, several cycles ago, an ICC trap was sprung upon her. Unable to escape and heavily wounded, she relaxed the sphincter to her antimatter bladder, and let the contacts flow into the rest of her hull, exploding instantly and taking a great many enemies with her to the grave.
A service will take place in several cycles' time.
Miscellaneous
----------------
Three individuals, a Mr N. Anor, a Mr S. Jamaane and a Mr Onimi announce that they are suing the entire K'luth race for copyright infringement. We will convey any further details to you as they transpire.
