tk'di'kr d'krt'iik tr'kdidkrt...
Humans have sieged more of our childer. Recent battle revealing clan KDTIKRT using form of polarized magnetics to attract disabled Beak to station. Humans learning more of us. Consult retreat and regroup near dk'rk'kir'ddkrt . Strike eminent. Requesting estimate of "Blue" arrival.
----------------------------
The Beak Commander of "Tuath Da'Daanan," halts the transmission from the neural net, focusing his attention of the massive war that has been laid before his ship. He's been cloaked in the Sirius system for many churs, and there seems to be a plague running amock in his crews feeding supply. Could it be that the humans have discovered their means of survival? His Beak has been badly damaged, and his AHS has begun to waver; they're working harder than they can reproduce. At this rate, there will be none left to breed. But he can't risk uncloaking in a mamed ship to allow their strain to be lifted. With these larger, more heavily armored ships surrounding him, he wouldn't last longer than a Tin amongst them.
Their scouts are growing closer with their, "Sensors." He heard of these, 'sensors' from one of their captive humans. Another few tins of interrogation, and he could've learned the secret of how they use propulsion. But humans are fleshy, delicate beings, he has learned. He has learned quite a lot of the humans in these passing Churs. But how do they control that which they are not bound to? How is it that these vessels can be controlled with jestures of their appendages, not with focus of mind? Crafty they may be, but we are a proud race. We shall discover all their secrets in time.
Suddenly, the all too familiar whirring and clicking of the commander's sensor system begins to sound off once again, warning him of another incoming wave of the smaller human ships. They seem to emanate some sort of beam that interferes with his light-bending technology, and in his state, he can't afford to be found. His mandible clenches as he focuses his full mind on the engines of his beloved Beak. He has to get away, he must. He's no good to the High Lord if his life functions cease. He is no coward, but he is not brash either. He feels the hum in his endoskeleton of the Beak beginning to stir again, coming to life as obedient as the Gnirls of his home planet. He looks upon the seeing-portal in front of his fine fine vessel, and allows a sense of relief wash over his mind as the stars begin to leave small trails, telling him that he is making his way apart from the invading small ships.
They won't find me. Humans rely on sight, not thought. They can not hit what they cannot s----...
"DURSH TUARTATHA!" his helmsman calls out to him in an urgent screech, his dronish-wide multi-faceted eyes widening in alarm. The seeing-portal turns black. All the specs that were once stars disappear from view. What in Y'Rath'Atar's name is happening? He's confused for only the briefest of instances, assuming it is some devious human trick to cull him out of hiding. His eye-sockets narrow to the size of tiny slits as he assesses the situation, until finally the helm sounds off once again.
A small reddish firey object begins to plummet towards him and his Beak. He's seen these before. The human they had captured had called it a, "Beacon." He knows he must take evasive action. Revealing a signature or no, if it impacts, then all is lost. With a hurried and determined sleight of thought, he wills the Beak to turn portside with all its might, forcing its engines to roar to life.
Port, turn to port now, he wills. But he dotes. It's too late, it will impact the ship. He knows he must flee, or be obliterated into the voids of this dark space that surrounds him and his crew.
But it doesn't....... It halts mere ra'turs away from the very nose of his ship. What does this possibly mean? Is this some sort of trick to force him to emerge from my hiding place? Are they playing by the rules of Pel? Fire a warning shot and force a surrender? What does this mean, he thinks to himself.
And so the answer comes to him in the form of something great and horrible to imagine...
"Blue," Has arrived.
((To Be Continued))
