Greetings to all the reporters, journalists, and other members of the Free Press who are allowed to gather without fear in ICC space. Today's debriefing will consist of an ICC action in the Luyten 726 system. At roughly 1700 hours Exathra Standard Time an ICC task force comprised of SLDF ships led by Admiral RedXIII entered UGTO controlled space from the Ross 248 jump gate. After delivering much needed supplies to Izhack, whose supply lines had recently been cut by UGTO raiders, our task forced assembled in deep space off of the planet Zoca. Avoiding the death star of Wecamp, Admiral RedXIII led his forces in a brazen assault to liberate Zoca from the UGTO Imperialists. ICC Marines landed planet side at 1743 EST and promptly defeated the UGTO conscript forces. Unfortunately, before our soldiers could liberate the colony domes, UGTO Admiral Sarge ordered that the colony be vented to the toxic atmosphere of Zoca. An estimated 20 thousand non-combatants perished before ICC shock troops resealed the domes.
The colony agro-domes also suffered damage at the hands of Sol troops as they attempted to evacuate from the planet. As such the food situation on Zoca was in dire straights until two transports laden with foodstuffs arrived.
After successful liberation of the planet, the ICC fleet stayed in orbit as reconstruction began planet-side, with a UGTO counter-attack expected at any moment. The attack came at 1827 EST when a massive UGTO fleet, led by Admiral Von Virtu managed to slip through the planetary interdictor field and engage our ships at close range. Although ICC forces were temporarily forced to withdraw to Izhack, a UGTO Battle Dreadnaught exploded and many other ships were seriously damaged without a loss to a single ICC craft. At 1834 the ICC launched their own counter-attack and, as second dreadnaught and a missile cruiser detonated, drove the imperialist forces from orbit and landed reinforcements on the besieged planet. Von Virtu’s own ship was destroyed, with the Admiral narrowly escaping death as he transferred his flag to a nearby battle cruiser. Demoralized by the loss of their flagship, UGTO forces retreated in complete disarray back to the Mycopia cluster. The bravery of Fleet Admiral Dempster, of SLDF, should be noted at this point. Throughout the entire engagement he risked his life onboard of an engineering ship, making sure colonial residents had access to power and water, and that our fighting men and women had much needed planet-side missile support.
It was after this debacle that the UGTO began loading transports with conscript troops and throwing them pell-mell at Zoca, in an attempt to overrun the planet through sheer numbers. Sadly, many of these reluctant soldiers died when their inept transport pilots exited jump speed directly on the planet. This also caused widespread devastation on Zoca itself. However, UGTO troops did land, and it was only through a courageous shuttle of troops from Izhack and Ross 248 by Admiral RedXII and other members of his force that Zoca remained free.
Unfortunately, contact with the task force was lost at this time due to a solar flare from Luyten 276 B. However, we do know that Zoca remains firmly in ICC hands. My aide will now field any questions you might have..
[Breaking News] In a recent development in Luyten, SLDF have overran the majority of the Mycopia cluster. Only the UGTO death stars of Michelle and Wecamp stand between them and complete system liberation.
