how about hudge Tachyon generators that make a stable Tachyon beam to another jump gate making a litle free way express jump road
just a sort or jump but whitout the need of a jump drive on a ship
so you can move between systems whit out jump drives
atleast you stil have to the gate
but than gates can be as small for just privit shuttles we are using hudge capital war ships

Clearly Jump Gates are high powered particle Accelerators that utilize Gravity manipulation technology. They don't 'Fold-Space' or pucture it like a worm-hole, they merely weaken the bonds of Time and Space allowing for matter to travel rapidly between two points.
As has been posted before, they are quite similiar to Tachyon drives. The main differences are that they are drives the size of Dread class ships that 'push' ships that go into them rather than go into ships to 'push' them.
To state that they represent a physical impossibility to the known Universe is to also admit that other faster-than-light drives should not be possible.

I never given the question much thought. Jumpgates were never used in Project Epsilon, AKA everything was done long-jumping.

What you mean nothing faster than light. We have developed several things that move faster than light. Admittadly they are all moving light or power but 1 of them, A computer thats is in a liquid, moves energy around at about 200 times light speed. Its not impossible, we just haven't got anything that can more heavier mass yet.

There is no reason for Jumpgates to have been built by Ancients or Aliens. It makes about as much sense as giving Aliens credit for the Pyramids. The two are similar: The technology exists to make them, therefore, they were made by people. Just because we can't perfectly explain how they were made doesn't mean we should take the hard-earned credit away from those who deserve it.
The pyramids: Blocks of rock placed on top of each other - - If you can make a small version at the beach, then grabbing some Isrealites, a few cranes and chisles shouldn't be so tough.
Jumpgates: Faster than light, or worm hole technology - - We all fly ships that utilize this technology... these simply push harder and are a bit bigger. Most likely an UGTO pork-barrell project to keep keep the masses employed and to distract them from the inequalities of life.
