Q : is Ds laggy?
A : It may become laggy when I use the server to play paintball.
No further question.

This sounds like video lag by the way you are talking.. The MV has MUCH more to render than scenario. Until you can find a solution (buy a better graphics card) I suggest you stick with scenario.

If it's because of the added video/graphics detail, then turning HDR, FSAA off should help. After all, it worked fine for them prior to the latest patch with the eye candy.
If after turning those things off, and the lag is still perceptible, then it's not video lag. It's something else.
What do you think?

I have an ATI 5770 and i know its not my video card cause i can run Star Trek online full every thing at 1650 x 1050 and not one hiccup,
but this game i have it set to fsaa16 and it runs and looks great even with hdr its just some kinda data lag. and thing that heppends ingame now has a delay to it and that causes players frustration and this is with the recient patch,
i say revert till the bugs can get sorted, and please stop using the MV as a beta server we are all tired of it you guys needs to fix desync issues improve graphics and reduce lag but please don't break the game in the process

need to use MV as beta cause almost no one plays real beta server to test things before they get released ~

Your argument is invalid. Each game is different, running on different graphics engines, comparing does not hold any value in arguments such as these.

JBud, That is incorrect. Then DS needs to go with a better widely used Benchmarked Graphics engine. instead of making there own.

Yea, I don't think DS is going to change their game engine to another game engine after 10 years just because of a few people whining like babies that their cheap ass computers cant handle DS.. Not to mention the fact that using other folks' graphics engines entitles them to money.. And I won't even get into how much work it would be to adapt DS to a completely different game engine..
Your idea sucks, and my statement above still stands.

For one thing, I don't think you guys are experiencing graphical lag.. so seriously shut up about graphics engines and such, it has nothing to do with the network code.
First off, make sure UDP is enabled ... I enable it by default for a reason. If you disable it, then all traffic is piped through the TCP stream... and much like a highway lots of traffic can cause a traffic jam and slow everything to a crawl.
Secondly, what else are you running while playing? If you downloading using BitTorrent or something similar, your causing your own lag.
I'm looking into a some other solutions. However, I've jumped in a played the game a lot myself over the weekend and never did I see any lag. The server is in California and I'm in Texas... so I'm what I would consider to be a typical user in this case.

P.S. OmniVore your makign me mad.... we do test in beta, we fixed a ton of issues before releasing. However, we never get the load we see in release, so we always run the risk of new issues popping up once something goes up.

I been getting same issues to. And before andone yells or flips out i don't run much of anything in the backround. So all of my 4 gigs is to darkspace and i still get lag and it only gets worse with UGTO around.
