Just an update for everyone...

It seems the firewall has stablized after I downgraded the firmware to an older version. I'm still ready to replace the firewall if it fails again, but it's looking like I won't need to do that just yet.

Cheers,
Richard

DarkSpace uses a hardware firewall, a little more robust than Zonealarm

Good to hear Richard. Hope it doesn't crash again.

NetGear FVS338...

I've found some deals on ebay for a Netscreen 100, which can support ALOT more concurrent sessions and throughput... so I'm considering upgrading to that if the Netgear gives me any more trouble.

Ah, funny your having issues with it, I beleive and don't qoute me on this I will check to be sure, but one of companies I am working for currently has a Neatgear ProSafe.

My problem with it is it just locks up and whoses out on me, and there is no actuall pattern to it. I show up reboot it and boom were moving packets again. My co-worker just ordered a new firewall for them, but I haven't seen the PO yet so I am not sure what he ended up with.

Thanks for your hard work,
-Smartin-
