For some reason ive lost my subscription and cant build in my own servers faustus really needs to allow midshipmans to use the engineer because if we cant build in our own servers whats the point of making them?

The point is to stop new players ruining planets. They're not supposed to be building at early ranks, as they're seen as... well, noobs that dont know much.

If you want to build and such pay like the rest of us. It makes perfect sense.

true but one cant learn what they cant try. also player servers and ds server should have separate ship requirements so noobs can build in their own servers and fail. like instead of prestige use points instead of prestige like official servers requiring prestige and rank while created servers use points. also i demand to know y my subscription cut out while i wasnt playing as well.

lets not forget making engineer ships for subbed people only, has other advantages. It also serves as an incentive to subb.

Once they get the rank to use an engineer they will mess up planets.

How do they get prestige when they can't use an engineer anyway?

Actually, IMO, it doesn't really matter. Give a complete newbie an Engineer, sure he may mess up some planets, but he'll probably learn.

Ok, now in this situation, a newbie gets subbed and can use the engineer. All right, but he'll still most likely not know much about how to build and may mess up planets anyways.

We actually DID fix the engineer requirements... We raised them at the request of all the subscribed players because of the number of new accounts that kept messing up planets.

Engineers require the rank of Ensign, because it gives new players something to look forwards too, and more reason to subscribe. There are the disgruntled few who havent subscribed, but still want to build. Thats tough for them.. As in most Pay-To-Play games, there are limits to what you can and cannot do on a trial/or unsubscribed, and building is something you cannot do while unsubscribed.

It's the supply ship that needs to be put down to midshipman, not the engineer. You can't go wrong supplying someone. You can if you (for instance) decide to scrap and rebuild Earth because it doesnt have 14 Dome's (it's happened before).

Jack thats also true but however engineer ships and supply ships have 1 thing in common and that is drones and engineering ships and supply ships can be used for building or resupplying. But if faustus splits the supply ship in two aka make a repair ship with repairing beams then the repair ship would be ok at midshipman rank. Another way is to keep the supply ship's ability to repair and resupply and repeat that repair ship's ability or something

Er, sigma?

Don't know what you're smoking mate. Engineers cant use reloads, and supplys cant use builds...

Really? What update made it so the engineer can only build and supply ships can only repair/reload? In any case I still have an outdated engineer in one of my player servers that I can use. However the fact that ensign makes it so midshipman cant mess up planets wont stop them from subscribing and doing the same thing due to inexperience i strongly suggest that a building tutorial should be set in place so that there wont be players who don't have any experience with building up planets.

Why cant faustus fix the engineer requirements?

They're not broken.

Popular demand condemned anyone under Midshipman from Engineering.

Popular Demand? Ok then how come ppl cant use the dreads that are already in their garage when they're midshipman rank? Shouldn't there be an exception to fly whatever is in your garage without having the sufficient rank requirements? But that still doesnt answer te question of which update outlawed the use a reloads in engineers and builds in supply ships.

because they're midshipmen. dreads require rank

that be like dad giving his 10 year old son the keys to the family ferrari
