I seem to be having problems with being disconnected at the moment.
I am happily playing away for about 10 minutes, then i get trendous lag, and oops im out.
When i try to reconnect i get, server unavailable. Even if i try through the internet standard. I beleive it is my own computer at fault. I have cleaned up the files and fragmented etc, i have also dumped 500 plus megabytes of unused programmes to no avail.
Its severely hampering my ability to play. To the effect im not actually on line now for anywhere near as often as i was.
Any suggestions.

Sorry virus but you are talking a foreign language!
I turn computers on, i click on the link, i play and i die, its what i do.
In real life, i nurse, i can do that. No computer stuff, no programming stuff, just psychiatry. I can also strip a V8 buick lump down and rebuild it, i can set up twin holleys, i can rebuild a porsche 911 from boxes of bits.
computers absolutely not. foreign alien, weird, totally unintelligable.
does not compute.

t is important to make sure that you have no programs in the background that might also be using your internet connection. Programs such as email scanners or anti-virus software, or pretty much anything that automatically checks for updates while you are online. It is worthile going through and making sure any automatic updates proceedures in these programs are set to 'off'.
Are you on a 56k line or on broadband of some type?
Some 56k modems will attempt to renegotiate your connection while it's in use. this can often lead to oyu being dropped from servers and experiencing other frustrating connection issues.
Also a possibilty:- if you are on an older operating system with MS Office installed, it also install a findfast utility into the startup menu. This scans all of the files on your computer a periodic intervals to see if they are MS Office files. Turn it off! It pretty much hogs all the system resources when running this check.
*EDIT* I have moved this thread to the General Support Forum which is a more appropriate location for this type of thread.

Thanks guys, i am on cable so the dial up wont be a problem,
with regards to findfast i will now switch the bugger off.
The interesting thing is, it is only a recent problem for me. I know others have suffered from it in the past especially Tops. I am on the old ME version operating system, and have always found it ok.
Someone i know has advised me to run LINUX as an operating system. But i think they know not what they say.

not much help i know , but linux is bad for you if you have no interest in a steep learning curve, dont get me wrong i love it, but it is a bit cryptic at times.
