well, i am using a sattelite connection right now, and would like to connect to the lobby instead of through the website!!! seems that i have too much delay to connect to the lobby though, when i ping darkspace.net it's taking about 1400 ms avg. after double clicking on darkspace and hitting the lobby tab, i get connecting to server, and all goes well, and then i hit the progress box, and it sits for about 10 seconds doing nothing, and quits. no errors etc, it seems like it has timed out. is there any way to delay this setting or prevent it? on a good day i'm pinging about 380-400 ms.... i have never had a problem connecting with this machine on a cable connection, so i know it works. any help would be appreciated.

A ping of 1000 to 1500 ms shouldn't be a problem for connecting to the lobby.
Checked the serverlogs. You connected to the update server at:
07/16/04 13:42:30
07/16/04 13:56:09
07/15/04 15:28:33
07/15/04 15:29:22
07/15/04 20:28:19
07/15/04 20:28:43
07/15/04 20:28:51
07/15/04 20:29:34
However you didn't connect to the release metaserver afterwards. Not a single connection attempt.
Maybe your config.ini still points to the beta metaserver? If yes, the latest news item might help you.
