WOW!

8 longs years, this game has been apart of my gaming life.

As we can all relate, those who have been with this game around the same time or even longer, how we miss those massive battles we used to have, when there were always people to kill or be killed by.

I think the most memorable series of battles that I have been apart of was my time in the UGTO, constantly in small fleets, assaulting the Fargo Rock cluster in the Tau Ceti system.

Now, the most exciting thing to do in this game is killing AI.

We should all plan a massive gathering and just have an all out ship smash or something?

Bring the good old days back?

I'm always game for a wistful, nostalgic romp in the old EAD. Although to be honest, my old EAD, with it's god-tier WEPS and engines are long gone.

I've actually been around longer than most. One of the old-guard bittervets I suppose. Although, there are more than a few that have been here longer. I quite think of my Beta Tester Badge with a sense of pride. Oh how I do miss those early days. My first cruiser! I still remember that day! LOL!

15 years, holy snap Jack, we're getting old ole' boy.

7 years for me here, and I still don't consider myself an "old" player.

Well I joined in 2002. 20 years old at the time.

Since then...........wow the world.

Anyway I remember playing on dial-up. I remember fleet battles on the metaverse UGTO v ICC. I loved the ICC assault cruiser. I mean we had like 60 ships battling in 2002 on dial up and it was playable with a 300 ping.

This game was WAY ahead of its time. That was the problem. And because it didn't catch on it sank. The networks at the time just couldn't handle it.

If this had been made in 2008-2010 would have caught on a lot more I think!

I guess it's over now. Like a cancelled tv show which a few got to enjoy. But I think the palestar programmers had to be some talented coders to make a multiplayer game like this all back then.

Since mobas are a popular thing, I don't see why you can't shop darkspace around a bit for a publisher and go for darkspace 2.

Darkspace to me is like a LARGE scale MOBA. It's about resource gathering, battling, strategy, that's where the focus is. A persistent moba, instead of a match made MOBA.

I think with a new design/direction some marketing and play tests to see the right direction, it could be a thing again. A persistent, fleet based moba. Where the universe map is persistent in addition to a players progress.
