I was just wondering about soe ships that seem to perform good roles that can be compared, the rules of this list are thus;
1. Ships have to be from the same faction
2. Ships have to be of the same type(cruiser, dessie, etc.)
3. Ships have to be of the same tier
An example comparison would be the UGTO battle, phalanx, and vanguard cruisers.
Battle: has solid defense, good medium range fighting, amazing arc coverage, but can be overpowered in close range.
Phalanx: best defense of the three, great close range damage, added pd role comes in handy, poor arc coverage, but can be mashed by cannon ships.
Vanguard: solid defense as well, has great long+medium range damage potential, torpedoes cover arcs well, can be destroyed by an assault ship.
I just would like to see which ships can also be compared and what you guys think.
edit: if you guys wnt to compare ships from other factions, that's ok [ This Message was edited by: Alzek15 on 2014-01-30 11:46 ]

Kluth Scarab, Clavate, and Thorax t2 cruisers
Scarab: Can bring absolute pain to enemy dreads, especially if they are alone. Cruiser level mines move at 20gu/s, and flying at that speed you can stack a nice cloud of mines against your target while hitting it with torps, cloak, gain a little bit of distance again and repeat. It carries two ECM to assist in cloaking or can be used with dusk armor for stealth mine attacks.
Downsides: Is light on the armor side, is very bad vs other crusiers and is counterable with PD.
Clavate: A slightly underrated bomber, as most people prefer the nuking power of the cruciform. With dusk armor and its extensive ecm array, it can bomb planets undected at ease, even in high sig environments.
It is disadvantaged slightly, as it cannot hide its bombs like a bomber frigate can, and lacks the sheer power of a bomber dread.
Thorax: Very powerful assault ship, probably the epitome of kluth playstyle: get in close and kill, fast. It is a good alternative to the Scythe if you cant get it yet. Although scythe has much higher burst damage, the Thorax can last longer in battle, due to its extra armor and ELF beam capability.
Disadvantages: No ECM to assist in cloaking, and can run out of energy fast, despite having ELF beams.

Assault, Halbard, and Siphon T2 Dreads
Assault: has the bonus in shield recharge, decent damage, variance torps are super slow.
Halbard: has good armor, flux beams/wave, good torp damage, not very manueverable.
Siphon: cloak, huge energy drain, neutronium torps do massive damage, poor armor, ELF beams, high beam damage.
