I have to ask since this bug is in game for a long while and its getting damn annoying. Will it ever be fixed the speed bug?
-trying to chase a dread and setting the velocity to 15.0 then i want to slow down to 0 and my ship is stuck at 13.0 velocity.( For those who doesnt know about it but im sure most of you had this problem)
Thank you!

How to correct this...tap a turn key to slightly turn...hit whatever key you use that causes it to stop turning without increasing or decreasing speed.(there is one not sure what key im sure youll know what im talking about)
It'll cause it to recognize the new speed velocity you chose and slow down.
Only takes a fraction of a second to do as well. O.o [ This Message was edited by: rykros1987 on 2013-01-21 15:09 ]

Yeah most likely latency related and is instantly fixed like rykos said.
Just have to keep an eye on your speed. Not that big of a deal unless your not paying attention and hit a planet.lol

If you guys can be more specific that would be great..
Are you using Q/W or the arrow keys to control your speed?
Are you holding other keys down at the same time?
Anything, else you can tell me about reproducing the bug would be helpful.
Thanks,
F

If you have the capabilities to make a HD movie and try to reproduce it happening. Explain what keys you are hitting, what is being held down, etc...
let me know if this is something that you can do.

I have this problem sometimes as well, only for accelerating/decceleration, and only when using w or q key. dont even have to be raising it to max speed or lowest speed, it occurs at various speeds. It does seem to happen when pressing w to speed up, while the ship still tries to slow down to the speed u set with the q button, and vice versa.
so it seems to occur when speeding up with w while the ship is still slowing down, or slowing down with q while speeding up

I also experienced this yesterday, while using the arrow keys. playing with the side to side arrow keys seemed to correct it

Well I tried all my usual button pressing patterns when in battle and whatever. Doesn't appear to cause it. Functions properly. This may be a latency based problem.
Fixing it is easy though you push any 'turning' key and then push the 'stop turn' key. Causes it to correct itself increasing or decreasing according to whatever it needs to reach the target speed.

my velocity gets stuck a lot to and i already got used to it so im keep checking if it is (i unstuck it by throttle full speed and then down).
ill try to keep my eye on the keys as well from now on so maybe ill find the combo that makes this

If I recall, when you hold down the key to change your speed, it only moves the speed marker for where you want it to be. After you release the key it then tries to match ship speed with what you set it for. (I know there is a little more to it than this.)
Perhaps a key is being repeated such as the game thinks it still being held down, thus it will not adjust speed anymore. A few possible tests may be to open a document and hold down that key and see if it repeats after you release it, basically repeat what you do in game and see if it duplicates. This would indicate something on the PC doing it, and not mean the game will or wont do it. Or try holding down the turn key for a while, then release and see if you keep turning. You get the idea.
Just a thought since it looks to be user specific.

I'd imagine it has to do with TraitMovement changes, F. The player has to 'wriggle' their ship left and right to get it to update the speed sometimes.
