Well, me and other players saw this is bad, and people have been scrapping/disabling everything in a planet right before it gets capped. It sometimes cripples assaults because someone scrapped the SY or disabled all the domes, or, in some rare cases, scrapped the whole planet... and i came up with a solution for it:
Do not allow for anything to be enabled/disabled/scrapped on a planet if it has the Blockade status, or has control below 90%.
About it being a pain in the ass to code, i don't think so, because you guys already got the code to disable planet actions(When a planet is locked you can't do stuff on it, so you guys use some code to block it, and you can reuse it here). If i'm wrong please tell me, but i think this is worth implementing.
Discuss.
EDIT: I think i posted in the wrong section... was supposed to be in development feedback i guess... can someone move this? [ This Message was edited by: henry700 on 2012-08-12 16:52 ]

Whoever scraps the planet loses a boatload of build pres for doing it, so it's a tradeoff.

Yet disabling does not.

I hope you realize this is a double edged sword. This will also mean you won't be able to fix a planet once It's been capped if there are enemies in the area or the control level was below 10%. Just thought I would make sure that this was known.

Well it's supposed to be a double edged sword.
Let's say someone manages to capture your planet and after you arrive and kick their ass out of it, the SY is scrapped and all the domes, tech and defense are disabled.
Not cool man.

You can't disable structures unless they take a resource that the planet is experiencing a shortage of.
We do want suggestions to be stuck in the Suggestions link. It's in the left-hand menu, above Development Log. We do check those suggestions, so please take them there instead.

Should be gone for structures that operate at 100% functionality while the planet does not experience a shortage of workers, food, energy or technology.
Confirm in Release or Beta that this is the case. If it is not, please take a screenshot and give me all pertinent information so I can check if the system is not working as intended.

Well as far as i know, disabling is still working on Release, because i see people disabling Shipyards or defense systems when the planet is out of population or power to divert them to the other buildings.
Don't know about beta though.
EDIT: Ah, the outage part.
Well, i didn't see anything getting disabled when the planet is operating normally.
Still, the Scrapping still is to be considered [ This Message was edited by: henry700 on 2012-08-12 18:36 ]

It's called Scorched Earth.
What's not cool about that?

Yup. Same as setting all the troops to raze right before a planet caps if the attackers were dumb enough to not bring a Bomber to kill them or Transports to drop their own troops.

its a sound tactic it slows large fleets gives the other side time to rally to fight back or stage a defense ive use this tactic agasnt ugto fleets all the time if u strave ur enemy enough u will win.
Also it means some poeple will have to use engy ships and combat ships will have to protect them which makes it a war not a team deathmacth from some fps game that reset afteir the round is over
