I have built plats in scenario, except sensor plat with ECCM always active, sup plat and wep plat seldom work. I recall last day I built a wep plat amongst several enemy wep plat. 1 hour later it was still alive. There were 3 players at that time. When one left (2 still playing), the plats (but not all) worked again.
Clearly, the number of players in game affect platform's function. Fautus said depends on server usage, some plat/AI wouln't work as they supposed to do. As a result, I guess we should cut down AI/plat number by half. Instead of allowing 30 plats or 4 frigates, 15 plats or 2 frigate is the number. Obviously, when the AI are there but skip their tasks, they only eating server's resource and cause player frustrated.
Another problem of the game is starport. As we know the total number of ships and platforms of faction is a certain number. Starports call up transports. So the more starports are there, the less combat, supply and engineer ships in game and the more standing-by platforms. Because you can not pause the starport unless the planet lacks any condition, starport has been more annoying than helpful.
I would suggest abandon AI scout in game. Since player can't demand AI, we don't need anything that spams alarming yellow text. Despite the planet out of any ship's sensor, anyone can F3 on any planet and view what's on the planet and starting guess. In general, AI scout is such a nuisance.
AI existence in game is fine. But when their number is a burden and reduces joy in game, their number should be adjusted. The number of AI should be set at where the server could handle them perfectly.
Although it sounds opposite, I would love if number of AI in player faction is reduced and number of MI/Pirates is increased, especially in Sagi.

I know for a fact that there is a weapon platform glitch.
They're firing their core weapons, but they never appear, and you start taking random damage from them.
It's really irritating.
Also weapon platforms seem reluctant to help the nearby platforms that are being attacked in large platform standoffs.

As it was explained to me, AI start being deactivated and move to the nearest gate to despawn when too many are present at one time, which unfortunately includes platforms. Since plats can't move to the nearest gate to despawn they just deactivate but continue to be counted.
If planetary transports had the highest priority for being deactivated+despawned and platforms/supply ships the lowest it'd probably be a good thing.

I'm not talking about supply plats. I'm talking about actual AI supply ships.

Other people had been talking about platforms, but from what I remember all AI are treated the same as far as deactivation goes so supply ships are included in that just like everything else. What I don't know is whether it's random or if there's a pattern to it so you'll just have to wait for someone who knows how it works to give more details.
