This is really only a problem with K'Luth troop transports.
Any other transport will get shot to bits and vaporized by beams.
All I can suggest is that for now, you always carry some troops on board.

Boarding is not easy to do.
Personally I consider the current capturing ratio is damn hard. You don't lose any prestige for being captured, but you only gain 1 prestige for 1 successful capture. To board a ship requires skill and luck, but even when you take risk, you are not guaranteed a reward. There are times that 30+ infantry won't capture a ship - not cool at all. I wish staff will make capturing easier.

Point of order, when you're captured you lose prestige just as though the ship had been destroyed.
And yes, as someone already said it's not really much of a problem except when facing K'luth where they can just decloak on top of you and immediately drop ten infantry on you, which I've noticed Luth have started doing fairly regularly.

Oh noes...
Does this mean that you're gonna think up of something to downplay this "exploit"?

When you say "you", bear in mind I'm not a developer and the above is my opinion. You'll have to ask a developer.

I cannot find anywhere in the code for where you gain Resources Lost points for having your ship captured. When your ship is detached from the game, if it is destroyed you gain Resources Lost. I don't see such a check for captured ships or anything in the capturing code that would do this either
Further more, each capture point you have gives you 15 prestige, not 1. [ This Message was edited by: Fattierob on 2012-03-26 12:45 ]

As Fattierob stated, when or if your captured ship is blown up, you lose prestige. We don't inflict prestige penalties so as to give people a chance to capture you back.
If the ship leaves the war zone and flies into a gate, then the user will not lose any prestige.

Your captured ship has to die for you to lose prestige.

No, the ship is saved to your garage data beforehand so you don't lose any enhancement durabilities
edit: if ships are losing enhancements, then report it as a bug [ This Message was edited by: Fattierob on 2012-03-27 09:53 ]

i can tell you about two versions back you definatly lost press upon capture, and durability was taken off of your enh.
(guess i need to pay more attention this version)
I just dont get captured enough.
To everyone in tha mv, ill be running around without infantry for the next few weeks (wink wink)

This is a bit unfair: killing a ship definitely plus prestige of the killer & minus prestige/durability of the victim. But capturing a ship doesn't minus any prestige/durability of the victim AND you can't confirm the success of capture even when you assure your infantry will defeat victim's one.
I think if you leave the a chance for people to capture it back, then that is an opportunity to defend/offend a certain target, which definitely leads to an interesting combat race. I believe players are not happy at all when most of the times red inf only damaged ship internal gadgets. They take risk, and they try to capture occasionally but the result doesn't like expected; it's just mad and upset. But I bet both sides are eager to rescue or terminate the CAPTURED ship when they read this topic. Therefore, I suggest you make capture always succeed when red inf conquer the ship.
As NPC AI has been increased, I don't think CAPTURED ship is easy to kill. So please let the race begin frequently by guaranteeing inf capture at 100%.
