Weapons with minimum ranges do not adhere to the manual (Example: UGTO Sparrow missles). Any weapon w/ minimun range DO NOT comply with the manual.

7.1 Getting in Range and Targetting
All weapons have two characteristics: a firing arc and a maximum range. No weapon will fire at a target outside its range, and if a target leaves its range after being fired upon, a projectile weapon will explode after traveling its maximum distance. In step with this, a laser weapon will stretch beyond its range, but cease to do damage beyond that point. If a weapon or other device is mounted to the front of a vessel, it will only be able to fire if its target is somewhere in the front of the vessel.

What the man is saying is that the manual omitted the fact that weapons can also have a minimum range, which is incorrect and the manual should be corrected to include that.

That is, unless he's trying to argue that missiles having a minimum range is illegal and the manual is actually some code of law, in which case I direct the OP to the wide range of antipsychotic medications available.

Translation for sane people:

I do believe that the manual is lacking in crucial information pertaining to the the properties of autonomous rocket torpedoes and their optimum deployment, for it fails to mention the critical fact that their difference engines require several minutes to process their instruction tape and thus must travel a minimum distance through the lumniferous aether before their bursting charges are correctly aligned for optimum detonation vectors.

I do believe that this inaccuracy should be given the most highest superlativity when it comes to discribing the seriousness of its need for correction.

Yours,
Featherstone J. Wutheringscroft.

What is this superfluous malarkey?

The DS Manual isn't 100% accurate to the current version of the game?

Heaven forbid.

Say it isn't so.

Whatever shall we do?

Dear sir, I regret to say that the absolute needlessness of your post is so obvious and complete that I simply am forced to comment. Do you have any idea how much upkeep it takes to keep the Manual 100% compatible with a game that is constantly being updated? Also, do you seriously expect, especially in mere days after a major patch, that the Manual is going to be totally accurate? Do you, then, demand it of these developers, who are volunteers, to such a degree that you actually have the cajones to point it out in an open post to the community?

Apparently, you do. Why, thank you, o Great Seer of the Invisible. These nice chaps who keep the game running for you would never have noticed without your keen insight and observation... of the obvious.

Furthermore, do you have any notion whatsoever of how fortunate you are to be a player of a DarkSpace that is being updated at all? I wonder if you have any comprehension of the absolute marvel that is the ability to complain that the manual is out of date.

DarkSpace's development is a volunteer effort, and that means they deserve patience. Cut them some slack and get over it. You may think you're doing the community a favor by being helpful, but if I were still in charge of updating the Manual right now, I'd probably consider you and others like you the bane of my existence. Hell, your post was such an exercise in thoughtlessness that I still consider you the bane of my existence.

PS. Also, you started this thread in the wrong forum.
