Dear DarkSpace players,
Every year on the closest Sunday to the 17th of March, we ask players to partake in a ceasefire for a very special event. The ceasefire will only effect the system R33 within the Metaverse, and those of you wanting to take part in this event are more than welcome to. Those wishing not to will have to avoid the system of R33 for the period the event is in session.
We hold this event every year to pay tribute to Paul 'R33' Gardner, a DarkSpace player who, sadly, departed this world On March 17th 2003. Paul was loved by many friends, fleet members, and DarkSpace player's; you name it, they all loved him. We all loved him. The day news of his death was heard was a day I shall not forget. Old and new players who knew him, and even those who didn't, were in the lobby displaying their condolences to those who knew him, and those who could call him a friend. A very dark day indeed.
On the the day the event is held, it is customary to cease all activity within the MV and return the system of R33 back to GTN (UGTO) control whilst the memorial is in progress, due to the fact that Paul was a long standing member of GTN. Although no-one is going to stop normal play should you not wish to take part, it's usually customary to, out of respect.
Myself, Banshee, Drafell, Crash003, DarkSword, and Vipe raised a glass to our fallen friend at the DarkSpace UK meet many years ago, and I hope many of you will join me in saying a few words not just for Paul, but to other members of DarkSpace who have sadly come to pass.

Just to clarify, according to the events page, the actual memorial will be held on Sunday, March 20 at 14:00 Central Daylight Time (19:00 GMT).

I hope PB shall put an memorial like this for Ryuk, who is also beloved by Luth.
Btw, what will we be doing during the memorial?

The R33 memorial is not just for R33, it is an event where we can remember the passing of all DarkSpace players, and pay our respects.

Ahhhh R33 memorial i remember the last one i could turn up to man after it was finished all of us was kicked from the server due to a server crashing amount of MI spawned at Fury man even when all of us was kicked some still managed to fly their ships into the sun in memory of him ahhh good times if i'm not at work on the day then i WILL be there playing one song through my head phones for him, it might be a good song for it called "life is beautiful" by Sixxam

after this event, if r-33 belongs to another faction is it reverted back to that facations controll?

hopefully UGTO will keep R33 system with out it being capped by icc or kluth and ill try and get RSM to help look after it till the memorial which at that time if it still under ugto control but (RSM) then i'm pretty sure that RSM wont mind the planets being changed to GTN and kept that way untill its capped again
