DeSync Error? (Cloak) |

Today I encountered a strange error that really needs to be looked at.
Fighting the K'luth I noticed that when MrSparkle cloaked I could see him as if he was uncloaked completely. It was exactly opposite when he de-cloaked, his ship disappeared. This is really bad as if he was cloaked I could manually target his ship.

Naw man.
Lemme tell what's really bad. And it's gonna be bad for you....
It's when he is decloaked and can shoot the crap out of you, and you can't see him. LOL.
I want that bug man. Gimme it.

Well last night was the first time I heard it affect a non-Kluth. It affects Kluth a lot, but at least we can relog and fix it. When it affects non-Kluth, they may either not realize it or not admit it and exploit it.
There's way too many desync issues.
EDIT: I do wonder now if this explains why sometimes you're so easily targeted even though you're cloaked with 0 sig and not desycned (confirmed after asking others if you're cloaked). Sometimes it's not simple manual targeting; you can usually tell if your hit box is being targeted or if it's manual targeting a point in space. It doesn't happen often but it does happen enough to make me wonder. [ This Message was edited by: MrSparkle on 2010-04-01 09:19 ]

I was wondering the same thing lately. I was like how can they point me with an alpha while flying a cloaked cruiser.

If there is a ping scout in range than that'll explain it too
Strange though, sometimes when another ship jumps in it'll have the effect of a really wide ping and reveal everything around me for a split second. Saved me once but still. xD

Confirmed, and it's a bug that's been around for a while.
It's desync.

Actually Jbud, Unconfirmed.
That bug has been around indeed, but we found one way to reproduce it and that was fixed.
There might be other ways that might cause it.
But for me since that fix, this is the first report i hear.
Might be interesting to look in it again.

| Un-Unconfirmed, I confirmed it because it happened to me just the other day.
But thanks for the info. [ This Message was edited by: JBud {AD} on 2010-04-01 14:45 ]

To you as in you could see cloaked Kluth as if they were uncloaked, or you were Kluth yourself and wound up desynced? Kluth get the cloak desync bug a lot, but I haven't heard of a nun-Kluth getting it.

I get the same thing once in a while, but usually when you get the cloak bug as Kluth you can't jump; it's disabled because you're actually cloaked when you think you're not.
