I was just thinking about how cool it would be to have a limited number of very powerfull enhancments that drop when the ship dies.
Example: A black market weapon multiplexor. It would be all but unique in the game as it would be very rare, it could say raise the stat to 8 (from the max of 6) percent but when the user dies it drops into outerspace for anyone to loot.
This would make for an interesting set of rules...however the only downside i see to this is whom ever has such an item would planet hug all day. So with that in mind u would have to want to encourage the user to ...use it . Possibly with this idea
Example continued: When the user scores a unique kill (meaning friends cant get on the other team and let him farm them all day) the power of the enh increases...by say .01 percent.
So going off that... a new idea... a parasite/symbiotic enhancment... at first when you first get it (which would still be somewhat rare...) it is terrible.. im thinking like 1 percent increase to x stat. But for every unique player killed, it increases in power but can drop when the user dies. the catch is when a new player picks it up it is back to that meer 1percent again.. so it would be like a combo system, the more kills you can rack up before you die the powerfull you get making it harder to die. This would encourage actually fighting.
Tell me what you guys think

I would find this idea good, bad, or whatever but.
All I read was

We have epic rare enhancements already. They could be had from certain sources or through events... 7% is close enough :P

Thari's
Flinn's
Zlar's
Magnatron
These are called Unique Enhancements, and are usually a magenta color. There are a few of us out there with them.
What I would like to see is some kind of unique but not powerful enhancement that drops from gaifen and energy entities. Like a adv beam multy that also changes your beams a different color from gaifen. Or maybe a crystaline colored trail from an entity.

Gotta agree with Az on that one. Something that would change the weapons colors would be cool. Especially if you could only get it from a Gaifen or Cystalline Entity drop

Black market eh?
I would like some elite tranny to drop a few crates of Lobster Speed or Meth. Injecting those stuff into Kluth ships would make them go into a frenzy.... doubling energy reserves, doubling weapon power, doubling armor. But it would give me a bad trip after that. Space will suddenly appear sky blue, and I can see the Kluth god, Jeebus Chrysalis appear on my HUD.....
OK seriously now... I think some top level enh like Advanced stuff worth 2500 on the market being dropped would be good enough.
Or maybe a one or two shot Macross/Robotech SDF style reflex cannon which will mop the floor with the faces of anyone that happens to be within the beams line of fire? LOL.
