ICC ships... HC CD AD seem to have texture loading issues.
at least to me... on the AC and HC the textures for the engine grates dont load until your almost fully zoomed in
on the dreads CD and AD hull.. the textures for engine grates on either side of the center engine dont load....
anyone else having this trouble??
its really annoying and ugly... and why the arse of the ships got problems?? if it were the nose i coudl care less.

Ive noticed video corruption when lookin at Terran planets, mostly on the day side. I never had that before the last patch. Its not bad either. Just looks like you are watching an old film, sorta.

It's like this on kluth. Ship flames have triangles around them, ECM has a box around the rings etc.... Everyone seems to see them.

Strange Defiance, i have never seen those kinds of wierdness.
Is that only at certain angles or at every angle?
Might be some corrupt wobs since i recall textures have different quality when zoomed out.. (dev's correct me when wrong.)

all angles exept the hole in the right side of the hull
that one is a distance one..
ive also observed the engine grates dissapearing when i zoom out
The HC hull also has one engine grate that goes away untill fully zoomed in
i dont think its a bad install becouse ive got it on two diff computers.. and its the same story
So thats a total of 8 holes in one model.. and its the last ship im getting so..... kinda really really sucks!!
i get stations after this.. but thats not a ship is it [ This Message was edited by: FaTaL Defiance on 2009-12-02 03:59 ]

don't know if you got 56K or a bandwidth cap but you might try deleting all files in the Data directory (yes all those .wob files).

Actually its all caused by the LOD used in the game. When the game was first launched most computers had issues with high detailed models being fully rendered at a long distance.
To get over that and keep things moving smoothly, all models were rendered with 30 frames of data and then had the PolyChop plug-in applied against them in 3d Studio Max. Instead of rendering a full model at a long distance, it reduced the number of polys and quality of the model.
The game uses LOD settings to determine which "Frame" of the model to show you.
Newer models no longer utilize Polychop, but all of the original models do.
