How high can enhancements be stacked?
I saw this guy who had a suppy with 45% Engine boost.
I want to make a ship with 30% armor, is that possible?

Yes, it is. You may only have 8 enhancements maximum though. So whilst you may have 30% (or more) extra armour, just remember that it's well within the realms of possibility that someone could have 30% (or more) increased damage to negate that extra armour (or a mixture).
This may, or may not, stay like this. Enhancements are still relatively new to the game, and we reserve any and all rights to tweak the system however we want. So those running around with +30% [insert buff here], if it becomes a trend we'll be watching closely to see if it's because it's far too much of a buff, and if it is, you can count on it being nerfed.
We may end up limiting it to two of one type of enhancement (so only two that give benefits to armour), we could do one, or we could lower the enhancement slots. Anything could be on the table. MMO's constantly evolve, and DS is not an exception to the rule. [ This Message was edited by: BackSlash *Jack* on 2009-02-13 08:42 ]

My Mandible is currently 39% armour, though thats now in the shipyard while I use my Siphon alot more.
I do however agree with Jack on his points that maybe further adjustments come into force if a trend follows and a limit is put in to place in future.

It's actually 8 if we are thinking of the same guy. 8 advanced weapon multiplexers on his battle station, that's +40% projectile damage.
I like the idea of it actually. He may have awesome projectiles but his armor is limited and his beams not as good.
If enhancements were nerfed or limited to 1 or 2 per type per ship, we'd be seeing people fly around with the same enhancement configurations. Even though I don't like the idea of enhancements at all (old school DSer I guess) I do like that we can customize our ships using them. We can build ourselves a battle station with very powerful projectiles that's a bit fragile. We can build a battle station with 8 advanced armor but whose projectiles don't do as much.
We need two things. First, more enhancements. Where's the advanced coolers and condensers? Where's the advanced beams? Second, we need a much higher drop rate of "good" enhancements off players. You're forced to farm elites now to get the good ones, which splits up the already tiny playerbase and discourages PvP. You know how many players I've killed or been part of killing the past few days? And do you know what enhancements were dropped? One minor beam condenser from a battle station.
Oh, and why are advanced weapon multiplexers only +5% when enhanced are +6%? Advanced armor is +6% and enhanced is +5% which seems correct given that advanced is a rare blue.

There's really no point in having enhancements if you are going to limit them. Might as well not have them at all. Example of why it's a point less to have them if you limit them: 2 weapon, 2 armor, 2 this, 2 that. Different guy has same thing = pointless because there's only a limited number of enhancements. It's the same as not having them. They equal the same in power and armor. It's a waste of space and it's tearing the game apart. Most people spend their time hunting for enhancements.
I'm in a hurry so don't mind if this post doesn't really make sense

Well, I think limiting the amount of a type of enhancement is going to be pointless. We need to be able to choose whether we want 8 armor enhancements, 8 weapon enhancements or a mix of both. If you limit it to half half then once everyone has half half, it's kind of like if you removed all the enhancements they'd still = the same in power or armor, if I made any sense .
