Hello fellow Darkspacians...gee its been almost a year since I last came on, but I hope to soon return. That 2 Weeks TM notion needs a serious overhaul...
I've been playing World of Warcraft of late so haven't gotten around to checking on how this game has been doing until now.
Since I can't seem to make my current (sadly out of date) client to even get me to the part where I put in my login and password, should I just download a new client?

Well I removed my old DS after downloading the new one. The one at the top of the download list...I had server disconnects from it coming out of every bodily orifice....about 250 discos...
Anyway the install went fine, but when I go to run it...I don't even get the DS splash screen like is normal, only the box saying its attempting to connect. Then it just says I failed to connect.
I think I MIGHT have missed something when crim's server kept giving me disconnects even though my internet connection was still alive and running fine, so I'll try a different download mirror and try again. Or is there something I missed?

Uninstall everything and then delete the palestar folder.. COMPLETELY
The download the 1.5 client from the main palestar site, then install 1.5..
after you log in to the lobby select launch tab, left click darkspace thenhit update... after your done click one of the server areas... (i recomend starting in the home system you are familier with) and whala you should be in...

also if you have freeze problems try window mode as well.

and dont be alarmed with the tiny ass windowed mode.... simply click n drag a corner to make it bigger
