I hear the Event Staff Planners are looking for a couple of hands and minds to aid the creation and execution of said Super Fun Awesome Cool events.
I also hear that most the staff has dedicated all resources to development of v1.500, so they can't help out with events a lot, meaning the Event Staff Planners are in need of an individual that is skilled at Lua and capable of providing insightful input et all.
I also hear Shigernafy likes to wear pink, frilly underwear.

Yeah, I figured. We can't run events if we don't have the human resources, so rather than call for Events you should contact a mod and say you want to help with running events or something.

I was toying with the idea of an event server. Maybe one map is a racing server and another is a 'sniping' map. I think i could have done it if i had a better internet but anyway. Theres an idea for you.

I was thinking of station soccer whereby tractor scouts try to push, pass, and pull the station into a goal with two Assault dreads/EADs on each side shooting Core weapons with a much smaller splash radius.

Can't change splash damage. Any weapon settings are set in code, meaning you'd have to have a patch for it.
You can change ship layouts, make different map layouts, move planets,ships,etc, spawn ships of various types and factions, .. a couple other things, probably. But a lot of things would require a patch.
If you have a brilliant idea for an event that requires something custom, let us know and we might be able to put in a gadget that can do it, or something like that, but just not add it to any ships (have it spawnable only) that might be an option. But generally set your sights below having a dozen new gadgets, changing splash damage on others, etc.

I remember that i did try to run a racing server a few months back but it didnt work. The only entrant was Echo-one. I remember beating him but as i was the judge/ajudicator, i gave him the top prize of 5mil credits.

well ok, i am just gunna throw this one out there.
Mir vs. Pirates!
for a short time the player base could chose from Mir Or Pirates, or any of the reg factions and have great 5 side War, i think that would be a very intresting event.
