Meh, i've been just thinking but we need new ships i'm not saying the current ones are bad i just want something new to play as. whoes with me?

And because yeah, its OH SO EASY to just invent a new ship (ontop of the hundreds that we already have) and balance it into the game when probably 50-75% of the ships in game right now aren't used.

the guppy is almost completely useless, it makes me sad sometimes, it would be good to see an exleast decent ICC carrier.

i do like most of the ships but some poeple would like deasent ships to fight with in there lower midmanship-Lt commander-captain levels most of them are useless agenst dreads and stations and the sort.

Wait, so you want a ship that someone six ranks lower can fight someone in a dread? You want a ship that is as big as one of the engine ports of a dread to be able to put up a fight against it?
I can only think of Indiana Jones...

well no i'm just saying the lower levels need something to use when they try to fight a dread something that stands a chance and not get blown away like a gunship/pickett

kinda like a frigate in Stellar frontier? well that would make ranking useless, and a destroyer can hold up on its own quite well against a dread regardless, provided that it may not be able to kill it, but it can still inflict considerable damage if the pilot is skilled. Do not underestimate the Combat, Assault,Gunboat,or Missile destroyers.

Darklazer - that is probably the worst idea ever.
As the ships get bigger they should get tougher to kill and get better at killing things. Otherwise in RL why would anyone build th bigger stuff. Online - why would anyone rank up or sub???
And if you ask any dread pilot what ship they most fear you can guarantee it will be one of the dessies (not counting dictor) - too fast to catch, to small to hit and the weapons do enough to hurt.
IMHO we need a better balance of ships that all have a function that then have to work togetehr as a team. Sure you'll always get 1v1 battles - ICC Heavy cruiser v UGTO Battle cruiser for example but this game is best with larger fleets (Anyone remember those??) that hada mix of ship types.

As lovely as they are, we would first need to establish a firm playerbase for each faction so we dont have two ICC ships against 8 UGTO or vis versa. Also, there is also the matter of teamwork that makes ships excel in points that the otherwise may not by themselves.
