And there she was. The gleaming glory of the fallians. The old UGTO Assault Dreadnaught. The EAD jettisoned from the spacedock in orbit of Maurbon and ignited it's IT engines. Moving slowly, it's bow cleared the dock and peeked out into space. Suddenly, 3 enemy contacts were spotted heading for the cluster. The now-old ship turned and faced this threat only to see that 3 cruisers were heading towards the planet. How had they gotten past the sensor grid? The ship groaned as it's ion engines pushed it up to 7 gu per second and took the ship out of orbit. It was a mammoth of a ship. Truly massive. Suddenly a hail of new contacts were found on the sensors of the ship. Missles! Ordering the point-defense to be activated, Jbud (as he was known to his freinds) Could see the trails of the missles, blue shards of light against a pitch-black cloud of small stars. The first beams of the new polaric beams fired, 3 times a second they could fire! They could make a hole in any missle swarm. The ship that had been behind the dreadnaught, a small assault destroyer known as the Enlar sped up to 17 gu/s and launched it's forward conversion cannons. Cutting a swathe through the cruiser and tearing its right armor off exposing the hull. The assault destroyer fired its complement of 3 flux beams at this hole and the cruiser began to shudder as it's jump systems overloaded. Turning right, the Enlar fired two proton torpedos at the ship and the cruiser ceased to exist, it's explosion forming a temprorary sun with its own system of co-orbiting debris only to fizzle out in a second. The people aboard it destroyed.
It was most likely that this was another pirate raid, another bunch of hopefuls from the depths of space hoping to pillage the planet and become rich.
The fallians were a peaceful people, never having the means or the willpower to expand from the maurbon cluster. Several years after Fale had fallen, the leaderless UGTO had fractured into several factions. The fallians were one of 4 factions. An examination of the ships showed that they were of Sa'tun people. They were the ex-royalists of the UGTO, the richest of the richest. They had made exactly 14 stations around saturn after Earth fell. They were highly religious, they believed that they should be the only humans in the orion arm. And that included the ICC. The other two factions were small pirate factions. Too small to be of any bother to either the Fallians or the Sa'tun people. They both had large stations in deep space. They were rumored to have been reserching how to make a star but it was unknown of their wereabouts...
The EAD wheezed as another Quantum Singularity Torpedo jetted away from the bow. It was a very old ship and Jbud knew it. There was only one cruiser left, it was highly disabled and unable to jump. The EAD moved in cautiosly, in an attempt to capture it. It was right to be cautious as the right IE engine of the cruiser exploded. 3 Heavy infantry pods left the EAD as it closed to 200 gu. They hit the surface of the ship and drilled into the surface. The infantry disembarked and found themselves in a hellhole. Skelatons everywhere. B company was especially privy to this sight as they had landed on the bridge. The sargent leading the company, Bardiche, checked the nametag of the captain on the chair. The name tag read: Leonide...

The mood was tense within the boarding parties. The atmosphere of the ship was dense and weighed down like a ton on Sargent Bardiche. He opened a channel to the captain of the EAD.
"Sir, could you get me the record files for a UGTO captain by the name of leonide?"
"Why?"
"He is here sir, well his corpse is. I read in a history book that someone of his name was the first ship taken out at the battle of Fale."
"Hmmm, I'll check the old UGTO service list fot you."
"Thank you, sir."
Jbud switched his palmscreen on and typed a few chracters in. He was astonished at his findings. Leonide was indeed killed at the battle of Fale and his ship destroyed. However, more questions got asked by this knowledge than answered. Jbud wondered how the ships had been active when the crew was dead. He sighed. Suddenly he got a screeched messege from the infantry aboard the ship. It was corporal Riley, the leader of C company.
"Sir! We are under attack by an unknown force! Requesting emergency retreat!"
"Can you identify the threat, is it human?"
"Negative sir! The shots are coming out of nowhere! We need to retreat or to be reinforced! Over!"
"Okay, retreat out of that part of the ship!"
There was silence amongst the comms.
"Riley! Respond!"
More silence.
He tryed contacting the other two companies. Nothing again for A company but B company was still alive.
"Sargent Bardiche! Can you hear me?"
"Loud and clear, sir."
"Get off that ship."
"Sir?" Bardiche sounded surprised.
"Now! Something just glassed both A and C company!"
"Aye, sir."
The ship shuddered as it decompressed when the boarding party departed and headed back to the EAD. Jbud didnt know how he was going to inform the families. Scans of the ship showed no lifesigns. Jbud ordered a QST to be fired at the ship. It hit and the ship, along with all traces of it's existance, ceased to exist...

The Fallian headquarters on the Space station Aegis were the most secure thing that the Fallians had. It was layered inside the massive hulk of 15 layers of 2.6 meter Titanium/Concrete alloy and protected by 3 ships. The Quasar, The Reliant and the Imperator. The atmosphere inside however, was grim. What had been controlling the vessel if the crew were pronounced dead for at least 20 years?
The answers came quicker than expected. A sudden radio signal was intercepted by the Thunderbolt. It read the same messege over and over: Die, and you shall be controlled. Live and you shall die. Surrender, and you may live.
It was a warning to the fallians of an incoming battle. All of their vessels were recalled to the Aegis for defensive refits...
