Hi

I have just started to play the demo to see if I like the game.

I have to say that the tutorial is abysmal. It is too short and does not help in a number of areas:

*jumpgates and how to master them;
*what and how you are meant to make a living..yes mining i know but where do you buy the stuff?

Also stuff like "what is required, how to go about your business and so on" seems to be missing from the tutorial and quite other basic stuff. I was left stranded when I jumped into a system the first time, scratching my head for awhile and humming heho!

I did eventually find a helpful player but managed to crash into a planet when setting up to orbit another planet, so boom i went. Sorry to dmc-13 I lost 8 units of his troops..

I have began reading the manual and faq's but even so i was hoping that i could just jump into the game and pick things up as well as reading at the same time. always thought that was the best policy.

I will endeavour with the demo but not sure if the game is worth $10 a month atm. I play Eve as well and that costs similar and has a far better tutorial...i do realise their fanbase is bigger currently and therefore it's a bit like comparing apples and pears.

Anyway got that off my chest onward and upward.

K

yeah, same for me. but this game is as simple as getting the hang of flying, jumping, and building, and go into the Newbie/admiral server to gain a few ranks by building/capping planets/bombing/what have you, then go onto the Metaverse where you learn combat, then eventually reach the rank of Grand Admiral and be all uber.

Tutorial was designed for people who only know about the existence of the pluming tube like connection over a string called the internet.
And who have tried to replace there recently broken Amiga.
So there basically new to computers and new to this interconnected-tubes.

In reality the Tutorial is our hope of ever creating a micro standalone one player server where you could learn what the default controls are, how to target and press the space bar, capture planets, build planets and mod your ship.
So far you are seeing the result. its pathetic we know, but we can't find a admin/dev who isn't occupied with the new update, to work on this idea called "The Tutorial".

Currently we know the tutorial currently covers; Selecting a ship from a home-gate, orbit crashing in a planet, fighting a maybe already destroyed enemy, capturing a planet, Pressing ok.

However we tank you sincerely for your post, And we greatly tank you for even trying the tutorial.

[edit] Typo's

Karak, don't sweat those troops. There's a lot more of those where they come from. You crashing your ship, that's another story cause you lose prestige and credits. I'm sorry if I didn't explain things clearly enough. Next time I'll make sure to explain things compleatly. Whenever I'm inside the game, you're more than welcome to fly around with me and I'll try to help you as much as I can.

Note: I crash into planets too, on a regular basis, so don't feel bad.

Sincerely,

DMC-13
