For the past week i have realized that the MV server is begenning to become extremely Lagged. I have pondered the question and i have not found any real reson for it. I was woundering if any members of the Dark Space Community had an awnser for me, Sense i havent been able to contact an admin that could explain it to me. Any positive imput would help, This topic is not for complaints or sad stories, I just would like an exlanation on why the Mv is so laggy these recent days.

I think he means more than usual lately. Which I agree with. More importantly its not the usual lag when your near a planet with 25 fighters deployed, its in empty space

exactly my point, it is 1 thing to lag a little near a planet with a battle going on, it is another thing to lag in the midle of nowhere and alone. i understand that there is a little leway for lag but sometimes it is really outragious.

ya your probably right but why cant they take out all the old systems then, the ones that have no gate to them? Surely their taking up processing power...

Only like 10-15 extra planets outside of the systems some are ment for ai i think its like 3 but the new system has like 14 planets and suns and gas giants i think.

Considering that the MV used to be twice as large i don't see the problem.
But yes the question remains, i my self have noticed more problems that can be defined under LAG.

Yes Those are good points, why not, maybe they have a plan for them yet or the lag may be an unintended side effect of the addition of the new system. Well in ether case you think they could remove the luyten system if it is not going to be is big use, it already is missing its jump gates. it dosent really have a real stragic posision, it might be best if they could just remove it of put it in a better location, its like they just pushed it off to the side.

Remember lag is a 2 way thing, server lag, and client side lag.
It could be you.

I was wondering this myself.
I've been playing DS on this PC almost continuosly since 2005 and the lag now is really bad.
I'be lost 4k in pres due to lag assisted deaths in the last week.
The PC hasn't changed - if anything its slightly faster - i cleared out a load of junk that started and ran in the background but even with that i often up having to quick log, due /bps -1 to make it playable.
Again not complaining but would be nice for an explanation. A cure would be even better!!
Is it worth restarting the MV?? WHen we went from the old map with van manaans, and the various Ross system to the map before this we had almost no lag so whats changed?

Yea i have noticed that the lag in the last week has been through the roof(in a manner of speaking). idk why or how to fix it but a cure for it would be nice.

if the computer is 4 years old, its slower then it was when you bought it, it gets old, it gets slow
